‘Angel’s Egg’ Still Embodies Anime’s Wonderous Ability to Move Without Words
Mamoru Oshii’s cult classic original video anime, a haunting, wordless vision, returns to theaters in 4K for its 40th anniversary.

According to the tabloids, celebrities are just like us. They run errands, they wait in lines and they also know which strains of cannabis they love best. In the past few years, many of the world’s most iconic stoners have embraced the legalized industry by launching branded pot products. Willie Nelson has Willie’s Reserve, Snoop Dogg has Leafs By Snoop, and more famous faces are getting in on the action every day. But what is Nelson smoking when he hangs up his guitar after a long day? What’s in the blunts that Snoop allegedly smokes up to 80 of a day? With so many different strains now available — bred to highlight various terpenes and capable of inducing a wide array of physical and mental sensations — what are celebrities reaching for when it’s time to toke up?
In the case of the most famous pothead on the planet, country legend Willie Nelson claims he has no preference. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Nelson suggested that cannabis was like sex — “It’s all good, some is great.” Later in the same article, Nelson’s wife, Annie D’Angelo, did note that Nelson prefers sativas (“He’s already funny, so it just makes him funnier.”) For the “On the Road Again” musician, a practice of smoking what you’ve got does feel rather fitting. Nelson recently made news for admitting he’s no longer smoking, but hasn’t stopped enjoying cannabis.
The superstar pop singer has made no secret of her love affair with weed — a stance that likely shocked some fans who best knew her as a squeaky-clean Disney star. Yes, even Hannah Montana is riding the green rush. During a 2013 trip to Amsterdam, a member of Cyrus’s entourage revealed that Miley’s strain of choice was Super Lemon Haze, a sativa-dominant hybrid known for sparking energy and joy. Given the sunny vibes of her most 2017 album, ‘Younger Now,’ it appears to have done the trick.
For some of us, the challenge of performing live comedy may seem daunting, but seasoned comic and podcaster Doug Benson is always at ease when he hits the stage. His secret? Being really, really high, of course. Like Nelson, Benson isn’t too picky when it comes to strains, but in a 2013 interview with Cannabis Now, he did express a fondness for the delightfully named Chocolope. A cross of Chocolate Thai and Cannalope Haze, this strain has notes of coffee and is recognized for its ability to induce a happier mindset.
The legendary West Coast rapper has been hyping cannabis since the day he first hit the studio. One could make the argument that Snoop has done more to bring weed to the mainstream than any other celebrity out there. When it comes to what he likes to burn, he’s given a number of different answers over the years. One that Snoop’s mentioned several times is Herijuana. According to Leafly, this hybrid of Petrolia Headstash (a variety of Humboldt County Afghan) and Killer New Haven “was worked by breeders for 15 generations.” The result is a powerful high that is likely best enjoyed by heavyweight consumers like the D-O-double-G.
While Seth Rogen has not officially confirmed his favorite strain, there’s reason to believe it might just be Pineapple Express. After all, the strain didn’t actually exist before he and co-writer Evan Goldberg invented the name for their 2008 stoner comedy. Borrowing the name from a weather phenomenon (an atmospheric river that begins in the islands of Hawaii and moves up towards the West Coast), Pineapple Express is now a bona fide strain the combines Trainwreck and Hawaiian for a sativa-forward blend that will get you up and moving if the afternoon starts to drag.
TELL US, what’s your favorite strain?

A perfectly baked banana raisin loaf cake that’s so moist and speckled with raisins. Soft and moist banana cake sweeten up with brown sugar for a healthy and simple breakfast, snack, or dessert! This banana raisin cake recipe makes a sweet yet nourishing treat that is easy to put together and delicious to eat.
This soft and moist banana raisin loaf cake is insanely delicious and ridiculously easy to make with a few easy steps. This is one of my favourite cake style snacks. Serve fresh out of the oven with a cup of tea or coffee and even ideal for a light simple breakfast, dessert or as tasty snack!
The cake has a wonderful aroma as it bakes and even when you have a slice after a day. It’s a moist, soft, scrumptious cake with beautiful crumb which are to die for. The flavour of bananas is robust and the bits of the raisin you get in every bite takes it to another level.
Banana and raisin go very well together. This whole wheat banana raisin cake has a burst of flavor. The aroma from the banana and juicy bite of the raisin in each bite of the cake is drool worthy. This banana raisin loaf is insanely delicious that you can’t stop with just one slice! This scrumptious cake does not last more than 24 hours at my house.

There are two main reasons why I like banana cake. One is taste, and the other is the simplicity of any banana cake recipe. And this banana raisin cake recipe is easy-to-make and tastes fantastic.
USE OVERRIPE BANANAS
When buying bananas, it is best to choose firm and unscarred bananas so you can monitor and figure out the best ways to use your bananas. I always let them over ripe at home when I want to use them kn my bakes. Over ripe bananas are perfect in recipes such as muffins, bread, and cakes. I always recommend to use overripe bananas in baking especially in cakes, muffins to make the very best banana cake with super moist, soft and flavorful outcome, The riper the bananas, the more moist your cakes will be and the more banana flavor it will have! The outcome of the cakes will be tender and packed with full of flavor.

BANANA RAISIN LOAF CAKE VIDEO TUTORIAL
LETS TALK INGREDIENTS
It is a very basic banana bread recipe. It uses ingredients most commonly found in our pantries.
● Whole Wheat Flour – For a healthier version used whole wheat flour.
● Banana – Used over ripe bananas. Over ripe bananas are best to use in baking.
● Brown Sugar – Brown sugar yields soft and moist cakes. It adds an awesome flavor and texture to the cake. No doubt a healthier option too as compared to refined sugar.
● Milk – Used whole milk. Recommend to use whole milk for extra richness, taste and texture.
● Oil – I have used refined sunflower oil. You can use any flavorless oil. I prefer using oil than butter for a soft and moist outcome.
● Leavening agents (Baking powder & baking soda) – There’s a combination of baking powder and baking soda in this banana raisin loaf cake to give it the perfect amount of lift.
● Egg – I have used only 1 large egg and that does the work as banana itself is a perfect substitute of egg.
● Vanilla Essence – Used vanilla essence. You can choose extract over essence.
● Salt – A dash of salt to balance out the sweetness.
● Raisins – The slightly sweet and tartness from the raisin in this banana cake is amazing. You can feel it in every bite of the cake.

INGREDIENTS SUBSTITUTION IN BANANA RAISIN LOAF CAKE
● Whole wheat flour can be substituted with all purpose flour (maida) or you can use 50-50 ratio.
● You can use white sugar instead of brown sugar.
● You may also use other healthier sweeteners are jaggery, cane sugar, honey etc.
● You may use butter instead of oil or any flavorless oil will work.
● To make it vegan use any dairy free milk or just even water for the liquid.
● To make an eggless version you may choose anyone of these
☆ Use 1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice and use ½ cup milk altogether.
☆ Use ¼ cup curd/yogurt instead of egg.
● You may use black raisins instead of the regular rasins.
● You may use vanilla extract instead of essence.
BANANA RAISIN LOAF CAKE VARIATIONS
● If you want nutty taste and texture, add nut in the batter also once the batter is ready. Lightly coat the nuts with flour and just throw in the batter and give a quick gentle mix.
● Use nut of your choice like pecans or walnuts etc. You can also use mixed nuts as per your palate preference.
● You may also replace the raisins with chocolate chunks or chocolate chips to make it banana chocolate chips cake.
● You can spice up the cake by adding cinnamon powder. The sweet aroma of the cinnamon adds extra flavor to your cake which will make you drool.
● You can use rum soaked raisins which will take your loaf cake to a different level. Its yummilicious!
● You can also soak the raisin in fruit juice. Any juice you love.
● You can put this batter into muffin tins and make banana raisin muffins.
To make muffins, line a muffin tin with paper liners or just grease it with oil or butter and fill each cup to roughly ¾ full, and bake for 20 minutes. Makes 12 muffins.

HOW TO STORE BANANA RAISIN LOAF CAKE?
Let the cake cool down completely and store it in airtight container. Banana raisin cake can be kept for upto 2-3 days at room temperature depending upon the temperature of your place. If you need to store it a couple days longer then I suggest storing it in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
HOW TO FREEZE BANANA RAISIN LOAF CAKE?
Cling wrap the cake and put it in a ziploc bag or airtight container then store in the freezer. I prefer to freeze sliced cake so it is much easier to take out the required servings and thaw them for breakfast or snacking. Freeze them for upto 3 months. It goes more than 3 months but best to use it within three months. To thaw the cake, remove from the freezer and allow it to come to room temperature and serve. You can also pop it in the microwave for few seconds and serve.

Add in the raisins and give a gentle quick mix.

BAKING THE LOAF CAKE
Pour the batter onto the prepared pan. Tap the pan for couple of times to release any air bubbles trapped inside. Sprinkle some raisins on the top.
Place the cake pan in the middle rack with both filaments (rods) on. Bake the cake at preheated oven @180° C for 35 minutes. A toothpick or skewer inserted should come out clean. Baking time will differ depending upon your oven temperature and settings. Start checking the doneness of the cake before the above mentioned time.
Remove the cake from oven and allow to stand for 10 minutes. Run a knife around the cake pan and demould the cake. Transfer the cake onto a cooling rack and allow to cool down completely. Slice and enjoy!

Since the beginning of his career in the early ’90s, when he arrived on the West Coast music scene as a smooth-talking gangsta-rap standout, Snoop Dogg has been more than open about how much he loves smoking weed.
From that “bubonic chronic” he bragged about on ‘Gin and Juice’ to his numerous successful forays into today’s legal cannabis industry, almost 25 years later, the D-O-double-G and marijuana are practically synonymous. That’s why we were initially a little disappointed when we found out Snoop’s first cookbook, “From Crook to Cook: Platinum Recipes from Tha Boss Dogg’s Kitchen,” wouldn’t include any recipes that incorporate cannabis.
It’s not as if cookbooks that combine marijuana and cooking are remotely taboo anymore — see “Bong Appetit” and “Edibles: Small Bites for the Modern Cannabis Kitchen” for two examples from late 2018 alone. And it seems unusual that one of the titular stars of “Mac & Devin Go to High School” would shy away from a chance to include pot in… anything. But, for whatever reason, “From Cook to Crook” declines to teach its readers how to dose their home-cooked munchies.
That’s not to say the plant is entirely absent in “From Crook to Cook,” either. The text is full of cheeky, wink-wink references to smoking pot. Snoop talks about “OG munchies” in three different sections interspersed throughout the book, where he ranks his favorite cereal, chips and candy. He tells readers to “go get baked!” in the introduction for a brownie sundae recipe. And one of the recipes, dubbed “The Lunch Briz-eak,” is literally just a plate of fruit with honey and peanut butter on it that you’re supposed to eat while you get high at work — though, for the record, it sounds tasty.
All we’re saying is, it’s kind of a weird branding choice to not even have a cannabutter recipe in the Snoop Dogg cookbook.
But enough about what “From Crook to Cook”doesn’t have, because at the end of the day, this cookbook is tons of fun, provided you’re a fan of Mr. Doggy Dogg and comprehensive recipes for some truly decadent home-cooked meals. It is undeniably engaging to read. Its pages are colorful, Snoop cracks jokes throughout the copy and there are beautiful photographs of many of the dishes described therein — plus, a great shot of Snoop smirking while he holds a lobster.
The whole thing starts off with a bite-sized opener from his TV co-host Martha Stewart, an introduction from Snoop and a visually delightful tour of Snoop’s cabinet and fridge, photographs absolutely included. From there, the book breaks down into chapters on breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, drinks (again, booze but not pot? C’mon!) and parties.
In total, this book boasts dozens of different recipes. You could conceivably cook Thanksgiving dinner using “From Crook to Cook” alone, which is genuinely impressive. And there are lots of extras tucked away among the recipes, too. The last chapter, for instance, includes playlists to listen to while cooking. Snoop’s “Game Day Playlist” includes “Eye of the Tiger” and “Black & Yellow,” which we simply cannot argue with.
Sure, these recipes are not for those among us looking to count calories or exclude goodies like meat, dairy or gluten from our dietary intake. Biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, fried bologna sandwiches, chicken and waffles, lobster thermidor, chocolate chip cookies and s’mores pie all make appearances in Snoop’s cooking repertoire, for good reason — they’re all delicious. This is a cookbook for people who have tried putting chocolate on pizza at least once, just in case it’s actually really good. Even though this food doesn’t get you high, “From Crook to Cook” is tailor-made for indulging your cravings once you’ve done the hard work of getting yourself high without edible assistance.
In the spirit of accuracy, we tried one of Snoop’s dinner recipes, and overall, we approve. The Last Meal Shrimp Alfredo, apparently inspired by Snoop’s love of the Godfather (gangsta sh*t is another big motif in this cookbook), was intense and required a fair amount of prep and cleanup. But the recipe was easy to follow, the alfredo sauce was thick and creamy and it tasted even better a few hours later, eaten in bed while watching the newest season of the “Great British Baking Show,” if you catch our drift.

What are chicken keema kebabs?
Chicken keema kebabs are the Indian version of chicken patty or chicken cakes which are essentially of flat round shape.
I call them chicken keema kebabs as they are grilled in an air fryer and not deep or shallow fried in oil. These are also called chicken tikkis sometimes as they resemble the popular aloo (i.e. potato) tikkis.

Food City also had a pack of snow crabs for a low price so on the spur of the moment, we decided to make a mini-turf and surf for the afternoon's NCAA Elite 8 basketball games.
We didn't have a lot of time because the skies were turning dark and Spring storms were popping up. I fired up one of our Big Green Eggs and got to prepping the food. I seasoned the steaks simply with Bourbon Barrel smoked salt and smoked black pepper. Did the same for the asparagus.
As you can see, one fillet was much more petite than the other. One was a heavy 5 ounces while the other barely weighed in at 3 ounces.
While the crab legs heated up in our steamer, I raced against time to grill the steaks. My plan was to grill the smaller one about 3 min per side and the larger one about 4 min per side.
My set up for the Big Green Egg was a Kick Ash Basket full of Jealous Devil lump charcoal and a pre-heated cast iron grate from Craycort. Notice how the angle of the grates go in 3 directions? Each of those are inserts that you can lift out to add fuel or wood OR you can drop in an accessory insert like a griddle plate or veggie wok.
Once the steaks were flipped, I added a bit of asparagus to the heat of the hot coals.
Cooking away on the Big Green Egg. This was just before I pulled her smaller fillet off of the grill.
Remember that plan to let the larger fillet go for a couple of minutes longer? The weather had other ideas about that and I'm fine with a rare fillet so I pulled it early.
Asparagus is one of my favorite veggies to pair with steaks because prep is literally a snap and they cook quickly.
Surf and turf for the games! My filet was rare due to the cooking time being cut short but like I said, I was fine with that.
Every bite was delicious! Since we normally opt for ribeye or strip, Alexis couldn't get over how tender the steak was. Not a bad meal for an afternoon when we weren't planning on cooking in the first place.

I've been using cast iron grates from Craycort for about 14 years. In addition to being a fantastic cast-iron grate, the modular design lets you add other components like this griddle, a vegetable wok, or a chicken throne. Craycort

Make sure you give your cast-iron time to pre-heat. I THOUGHT this was ready to go but when I temp-checked it using my Thermapen IR, it wasn't quite 450°f yet. My sister got me this combo food and surface thermometer and I love it. No more guessing. Thermapen IR [Affiliate Link]

Don't you just love the sizzle when you put food onto the griddle and/or grill?
Options are always a nice thing, right?
I like using the Mini-Max over a large Egg because it's often just the two of us and the Mini-Max saves fuel.

Eggs ? are a very good source of inexpensive, high-quality protein and are considered to be one of the most nutritious foods in the world. Eggs are such a versatile food, goes well with any vegetable and enhances the taste of any dish with it. If you are bored of normal egg bhurji try it with an add-on veggie to it, for a more healthy and tasty version.
Broccoli Egg Bhurji is nothing but a combination of scrambled eggs and broccoli. Broccoli with egg is an awesome combination, makes a drool-worthy side-dish, filling and protein-rich food, good to go with steamed rice and rasam or chapatis/roti/bread. As broccoli needs less cook time, this side dish can be prepared in mins. This could be a quick breakfast recipe and also a perfect dish for the lunch box.

Broccoli ? is an edible green plant from the cabbage family whose large flowering head and stalk are eaten as a vegetable. Every part of broccoli, the stalk, small leaves, and florets are edible. Usually, broccoli is sautéed, steamed, roasted, or grilled. Broccoli is a healthy addition to your diet whether cooked or raw.
Broccoli is a nutritional powerhouse full of vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. We all automatically think of citrus fruits when it comes to vitamin C, but did you know that broccoli provides an excellent source of vitamin C, a nutrient known to support healthy immune response. Broccoli is also a good source of vitamin k and calcium, two vital nutrients for maintaining strong and healthy bones. Broccoli is definitely a nutrient-rich vegetable that may enhance your health in a variety of ways.
Like all vegetables, broccoli has many different varieties. Regular Broccoli has a slightly bitter flavor compared to baby broccoli(Broccolini), which has more mild, with a sweet, earthy taste. And while regular Broccoli can be eaten raw, Broccolini is best when cooked. Today I am using regular Broccoli for making this bhurji.

My kids are not a big fan of broccoli. I somehow wanted to incorporate more broccoli in our diet. Luckily this method worked for me. Kids loved this combination of broccoli ? egg ?and I have no hard time giving broccoli to my kids. They even love it for their lunch box. It a great way to add this nutritious veggie to our diet, by making it more healthy, tasty and delicious. We like this bhurji as simple as in the recipe. But you could add spices like garam masala, crushed garlic, and chili powder to enhance the flavor.
Do give a try. Broccoli Bhurji is Egg-stremely delicious!!!!

1.Cut the broccoli florets as small possible, to tiny florets(4 cups) and set aside.

2. Finely chop 1 onion and slit 5-6 green chilis.

3. Heat 1 Tbsp oil in a pan/kadai, add in 1 tsp chana dal and ½ tsp jeera/cumin. Sauté until chana is light brown.

4. Next, add the chopped onion, slit green chili and 1 spring curry leaves. Sauté until onions turn translucent.

5. Add 4 cups broccoli florets and salt as needed, give a stir and add ¼ cup water. Close lid and cook on med-high flame for about 3 mins.

6. Once broccoli is cooked, yet crispy(do not overcook), push broccoli to sides of the pan, break 4 eggs in between and sprinkle salt and pepper.

7. Continuously stir the egg mixture until thickens. Once the egg is almost cooked, mix with the whole broccoli mixture and sauté for a min.

8. Once done, switch off the flame and serve hot with roti/chapathi or as a side dish for steamed rice and rasam.
