Crypto Price Prediction Today 22 January – XRP, Solana, Sui

22 January 2026 at 17:50

If you compare Bitcoin to gold, the underperformance is clear. Altcoins like XRP, Solana, and SUI have followed the same pattern and are still sitting deep below their all-time highs.

Bitcoin has recently tried to regain strength, but each rally keeps getting rejected at key resistance levels as market uncertainty persists.

Fundamentally, nothing has gone wrong. XRP, SOL, and SUI continue to improve over time. Technically, though, these coins are still in a weak phase. Below is how things could play out for the three as we head into 2026.

XRP Price Prediction: Could A Collapse Below $1.80 Be Possible?

Ripple price is currently down 60% from its highs and has been in a downtrend for eight days in a row. Momentum has faded, but RSI at 43 has not yet signaled oversold conditions.

Source: XRPUSD / TradingView

XRP is trading inside a clear descending channel. This explains why every bounce lately has been corrective rather than trend-changing.

Price recently pushed off the lower boundary near the $1.80 area, which is acting as a short-term demand zone and a key bullish invalidation level. As long as XRP holds above $1.80, this bounce remains technically valid, but the structure is still fragile.

The first real test for buyers sits around the $2.40–$2.50 zone. It lines up with prior resistance and the upper part of recent consolidation. A clean break and hold above that area would be the first signal that momentum is shifting. Also, it will open the door for a move toward the $3.00 level next.

Solana Price Prediction: SOL Stuck in Descending Channel

Solana is still stuck inside a clear descending channel, which is why every bounce lately has been corrective instead of a real trend change.

Price recently bounced off the lower boundary around the $118 area, which is acting as short-term demand and a key support to watch. As long as SOL stays above that zone, the bounce remains technically valid, but the structure is still weak.

The level bulls need to reclaim is $144, since it lines up with channel resistance and prior supply. A clean break and hold above $144 would be the first real sign of strength and could open the door toward $200, with a bigger resistance waiting near $250.

RSI is sitting around 42, showing momentum is still weak; it would need to push back above 50 to support a stronger move higher.

SUI Price Prediction: $1.40 Acts Like The Most Important Level

SUI is trying to find its bottom after a huge selloff, with price now narrowing up between rising support around $1.40 and a descending resistance from the prior downtrend.

So far, that $1.40 area has held well and is acting as a key demand zone, keeping the short-term bullish setup alive.

If buyers can push price above the downtrend trendline and reclaim the $1.90–$2.00 area, that would be the first real sign of momentum turning and could open the door for a bigger bounce toward the $3.50–$4.00 resistance zone.

Holding above $1.40 is crucial. A clean break above $2.00 would add potential to the bullish scenario, while losing support would likely put SUI back under downside risk.

Maxi Doge ($MAXI) is Thriving While Majors Stay Stuck

While XRP, Solana, and SUI are all trapped in downtrends and waiting on clean technical breaks, some traders are skipping the patience game and looking for where momentum does not need perfect charts to work. That is where Maxi Doge comes in.

Maxi Doge is built for exactly this kind of market. When majors underperform, confidence is low, and rallies keep failing at resistance, capital often rotates into high-beta memecoins with simple narratives and asymmetric upside. That rotation usually starts quietly, long before charts flip bullish.

The project has already pulled in strong early funding, even as broader altcoin sentiment stays weak. On top of that, Maxi Doge offers aggressive staking rewards, with APY hovering around 70%, giving holders a reason to sit tight while the rest of the market chops sideways.

Historically, some of the biggest memecoin runs have kicked off when Bitcoin and large caps looked stuck and boring. Maxi Doge is positioning itself for that exact window. If volatility picks up heading into 2026, the tokens accumulated during periods of frustration are often the ones that move first and hardest.

For traders tired of waiting on XRP, SOL, and SUI to break their downtrends, Maxi Doge stands out as a high-risk, high-reward play worth keeping on the radar.

SUI price crashes 13% as tariff jitters trigger risk-off selloff; Bitcoin slips below $93K

19 January 2026 at 11:17
  • Sui price fell as tariff jitters spooked global markets.
  • The token tumbled 12% in the past 24 hours as Bitcoin retreated under $93,000.
  • Tariff jitters and overall risk-off sentiment threaten further SUI downturn.

Sui price plunged nearly 13% to lows of $1.55 amid a broader market downturn marked by significant capital exodus from risk assets.

This sharp correction, amplified by Bitcoin’s retreat from $96,000 highs to under $93,000 and Ethereum’s retest of $3,200, came as crypto saw over $680 million in longs liquidated.

Many analysts are pointing to escalating geopolitical tensions tied to U.S. tariff threats on Europe over Greenland.

Sui price plunges amid Bitcoin weakness

Sui tumbled from $1.70 to a daily low of $1.54, breaching its 50-day exponential moving average at $1.70. The altcoin’s price has entered oversold territory with RSI below 40.

Sui Price Chart
Sui price chart by TradingView

Bears showed their teeth as Bitcoin’s price revisited the $92,500 support mark. As seen recently, this exacerbated the drop in altcoins.

Sui, with a higher beta, suffered notable losses and saw over 10 million SUI tokens flow to exchanges.

Technically, failure to reclaim $1.65 risks a slide to $1.40, with Sui’s support breach amid BTC deleveraging screaming further caution for bulls.

Recently, a six-hour network outage dented community sentiment, and despite key upgrades, the lingering concern suggests a potentially slow recovery.

However, if Bitcoin stabilises above $92,000 and reclaims key levels below $100,000, a follow-up altcoin rebound could see SUI eye the $2 mark and higher in the coming days.

Sui price fell as tariff jitters spooked global markets

The rout in top altcoins comes as BTC and ETH pull back after President Trump’s threat of 10% tariffs on several European countries.

Escalating to 25% by June, the tariffs will target imports from Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, the UK, and Finland.

These measures retaliate against opposition to the US acquisition of Greenland, prized for Arctic security and rare earth minerals.

European indices like DAX and CAC 40 fell over 2% on Monday, but gold surged, and the dollar index topped 108, pressuring crypto.

In retaliation, the EU has readied €93 billion in countermeasures, but with a potential trade war in the making, many alts could face further pain.

While Bitcoin ETF inflows offer a floor, miner capitulation as profitability weakens may spell doom.” It means the $90k zone is a key threshold, with retail doomed if prices fall further.

Crypto trader BitGuru thinks the decline has allowed Sui to sweep liquidity β€œinto a key demand zone.” The next move is key as the current price level has often acted as a base for the next leg up.

SUI Price Breakout Next? Analyst Sets $2.3 Short-Term Target

18 January 2026 at 06:00

The SUI price struggled to replicate its early-year momentum over the past week despite the general market seeing renewed optimism. The altcoin’s price mostly moved sideways, oscillating between the $1.70 – $1.90 levels. According to a popular analyst on the social media platform X, this slight inactivity might be a bullish signal of what is to come over the next few weeks.

Is SUI On The Verge Of A 30% Surge?

In a January 18 post on the X platform, crypto analyst Ali Martinez shared an interesting chart setup for the SUI price. According to the market pundit, a break out of the current chart setup could see the altcoin reach the $2.29 level over the coming weeks.

The rationale behind this positive prediction is the formation of a bull flag pattern on the 4-hour timeframe of the Bitcoin price chart. The bull flag is a technical analysis pattern characterized by a period of steep upward movement (the flagpole) typically followed by sideways or slightly downward price action.

Typically, the bull flag functions as a prevailing continuation pattern for an existing upward trend, suggesting a potential move to a higher price point. While this chart is often a bullish signal, it is crucial to wait for a successful breach of the upper boundary of the consolidation range; this increases the odds that the price will continue in its upward trajectory.

SUI Price

As shown in the chart above, the price level that needs to be broken to confirm the uptrend continuation lies around the $1.84 mark. Meanwhile, the target for this chart pattern is usually calculated by adding the vertical height of the flagpole to the potential breakout point from the flag.

According to Martinez, a sustained break above this level could see the SUI price run up to as $2.29, representing an almost 30% surge from the current price point.

SUI Price Overview

As of this writing, the price of SUI stands at around $1.78, reflecting a mere 0.9% dip in the past 24 hours. This tame daily action highlights the indecisiveness currently affecting this altcoin market, as the SUI bulls and bears battled for dominance over the past week. According to CoinGecko data, the altcoin’s value is down by 1.7% in the last seven days.

However, this past week’s struggles have not been enough to wipe out SUI’s recent success, especially on broader timeframes. For instance, the altcoin’s value has increased by more than 28% on the monthly timeframe. With this positive performance, the token has maintained a position within the top 30 largest cryptocurrencies by market cap.

SUI Reclaims Smart Money Zone, While Weekly Structure Signals Big Move Ahead

16 January 2026 at 16:00

SUI is showing early signs of a meaningful shift in momentum after reclaiming a key smart money accumulation zone on the weekly chart. Following a deep corrective phase, the price structure is beginning to stabilize, suggesting that patient buyers may be positioning for the next major move. With higher-timeframe support holding and a bullish structure gradually rebuilding, the setup hints that a larger expansion could be brewing.

Defending Weekly Accumulation After Deep 2024 Correction

Crypto analyst Crypto Patel, in a post shared on X, highlighted that SUI continues to hold a high-timeframe accumulation zone on the weekly chart following a deep correction from its 2024 highs. According to the analysis, the broader market structure now points toward a re-accumulation phase with smart money participation.

From a technical standpoint, several constructive signals stand out. The liquidity sweep at the lows has already been completed, while a strong weekly bullish order block between $1.50 and $1.30 has been fully filled. Also, the fair value gap overlaps with a demand zone. Since reacting from this region, SUI has already delivered a bounce of roughly 45%, indicating growing bullish responsiveness.

SUI

The structure remains technically healthy, with price action respecting a rising channel and the high-timeframe bias gradually shifting back toward the upside. These developments suggest that the corrective phase may be maturing, allowing for a more sustained recovery if current conditions persist.

Looking ahead, Crypto Patel outlined ambitious upside targets at $5, $10, and $20, contingent on the broader bullish structure remaining intact. As long as SUI/USDT holds above the $1.20 level, the macro bullish thesis remains valid.

The analyst also noted that the optimal entry zone, previously shared around $1.50–$1.30, had already played out, delivering close to 50% gains on a short-term swing. Overall, this remains a patience-driven weekly setup with attractive risk-to-reward for both spot and swing traders, but invalidation could occur on a weekly close below $1.20.

SUI Respects Structure After Completing HTF Correction

Sui Community outlined that the recent price action is far from random and continues to respect a clear structural framework. Following a complete high-timeframe correction, SUI has transitioned into a re-accumulation phase, with price stabilizing inside a well-defined weekly demand zone.

This zone is where smart money participation has become evident, signaling renewed confidence after the corrective move. The community also made reference to the same $1.30 and $1.50 entry zone as Crypto Patel, which has since been filled and validated, delivering gains of roughly 50%.

At this stage, the outlook shifts into a patience-based weekly play with an asymmetric risk-to-reward profile. As long as the broader structure holds, the long-term upside targets remain firmly in focus at $5, $10, and $20.

Sui Restores Service After Major 6-Hour Outage Shook Network

15 January 2026 at 18:00

Sui’s blockchain resumed normal activity after a network stall that halted transactions for roughly six hours on January 14, 2026. According to reports, validators identified the problem in the mid-afternoon and worked to roll out a fix that restored block creation and transaction processing later that evening.

Outage Timeline And Recovery

Based on reports, Sui’s team first flagged the issue at about 2:52 pm UTC when block production and checkpoint creation stopped. Validators applied changes and began bringing nodes back into sync.

Service was reported as restored at about 8:44 pm UTC, a span of roughly five hours and 52 minutes from detection to recovery. During that interval, no new blocks were finalized and user activity stopped across wallets and decentralized apps.

The Sui network is now back and fully operational. Transactions are flowing normally. If you are still seeing issues, please refresh your app or browser window. Thanks for your patience. We will share a full incident review in the coming days.

Please check…

β€” Sui (@SuiNetwork) January 14, 2026

Transactions Halted And Value Frozen

The halt left a large amount of on-chain value inactive while the network was stalled. Reports indicate more than $1 billion in value was effectively frozen during the outage, though there were no signs of funds being stolen or altered.

Users and apps that rely on the chain saw failed or queued transactions, and many dApps displayed errors until validators finished their updates.

Cause, Response And Market Reaction

Reports have disclosed that the problem was recorded as a consensus outage, meaning the mechanism used to agree on new blocks stopped finalizing. A full technical root-cause writeup has not yet been published.

The Sui Foundation said an incident report will appear later with more detail. The SUI token showed modest movement during the event, trading around $1.80–$1.85 in the hours after the network came back, with a brief spike recorded on some exchanges as the news circulated.

Past Interruptions And Context

Sui launched mainnet in May 2023, and this outage follows previous incidents that raised similar questions about validator coordination and uptime.

One earlier major disruption occurred in November 2024, which also involved issues around consensus and validator operation. Developers who build on Sui said many of their services experienced interrupted user flows while the chain was stalled.

Questions About Network Reliability

Some community members and outside observers have asked how often such consensus stalls can happen and what measures will reduce future occurrences.

Validators and the Sui team said they were focused on patching the immediate bug and improving monitoring so problems are detected faster. Based on reports, the foundation plans to share specific steps for validators and node operators in the upcoming post-mortem.

Sui’s team has said transactions are flowing again and advised users to refresh wallets or apps if they still see problems.

The network’s operators have promised more transparency with a formal incident report, which will be watched closely by developers, exchanges, and investors who depend on the chain’s steady operation.

SUI Reclaims Key Support With Strength β€” Is $2.35 The Next Target?

13 January 2026 at 13:00

SUI is starting to show signs of renewed strength after reclaiming a critical high-timeframe support zone. Following a sharp selloff, the price has stabilized above this level, suggesting the downside deviation may be complete. As long as this base continues to hold, momentum could gradually build, putting the $2.35 zone firmly in focus as the next upside test.

SUI Reclaims Critical HTF Support After Sharp Selloff

Crypto analyst Scient, in a post on X, revealed that SUI’s recent price action is unfolding exactly where it should after the sharp selloff. The market has pushed back above a key high-timeframe (HTF) support zone that previously acted as an important pivot area. This reclaim suggests the brief move below support was a deviation rather than a structural breakdown, with price now beginning to stabilize and form a base.

From a structural perspective, the grey box highlighted on the chart represents a crucial demand and decision zone. Holding above this area keeps the bullish reclaim intact and signals that buyers remain in control at higher timeframes. However, a move back below this zone would invalidate the setup and shift focus back toward downside risk, making this area pivotal for the next move.

SUI

As long as SUI continues to hold and build acceptance above this base, Scient expects a steady grind higher toward the next resistance area around $2.35. A clean push into that zone could open the door for further expansion if momentum improves.

Currently, this structure is appearing across multiple assets, with many charts printing similar high-timeframe PO3 accumulation patterns. Within that broader context, SUI stands out for reclaiming key support decisively, positioning it as one of the more constructive setups in the market.

SUI Leads With Early 4H Trend Break

According to an update by Daan Crypto Trades, SUI was one of the first major assets to break above its 4-hour downtrend and push decisively out of the prevailing range, signaling clear relative strength. This early breakout placed SUI ahead of many peers and put it on watch as a potential leader if broader conditions improve.

Currently, the price is consolidating directly on top of the former resistance area, a zone that now serves as key support. Holding this level would suggest a reclaim of the range and increase the likelihood of upward continuation. At the same time, a loss of this area would risk a return to consolidation and weaken the bullish structure.

Overall, SUI continues to stand out as one of the stronger-looking majors, but the next leg higher still needs confirmation through renewed momentum. Although SUI’s progress remains closely linked to Bitcoin and Ethereum, both of which are still lacking a clear direction.

SUI price rallies as former CFTC Commissioner joins SUI Group Holdings board

6 January 2026 at 13:05
  • Ex-CFTC Commissioner Brian Quintenz joined SUI Group Holdings’ board.
  • SUI price has broken the $1.80 resistance with strong volume and on-chain growth.
  • ETF-driven market rebound amplified SUI’s high-beta upside momentum.

The SUI price has staged a strong rally as the market reacts to a combination of regulatory credibility, technical momentum, and improving broader crypto sentiment.

SUI has gained 8.57% over the last 24 hours, extending its weekly advance to 29.15% and significantly outperforming the wider crypto market rebound.

This rally places SUI among the strongest large-cap altcoin performers during the current risk-on phase.

At the centre of this rally is a high-profile governance development involving SUI Group Holdings.

CFTC Commissioner Brian Quintenz joins SUI Group Holdings board

SUI Group Holdings announced the appointment of former CFTC Commissioner Brian Quintenz to its board of directors, effective January 6.

Quintenz joins the board as an independent director and will also serve on the audit committee.

He previously served as a commissioner at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and later as Global Head of Policy at a16z crypto.

This appointment immediately strengthened perceptions of regulatory legitimacy surrounding SUI Group Holdings and its institutional strategy.

SUI Group Holdings is a Nasdaq-listed company that maintains a treasury of approximately 108 million SUI tokens.

The company has positioned itself as an institutional gateway to the Sui ecosystem through structured treasury management and infrastructure alignment.

Brian Quintenz publicly framed his appointment as a validation of SUI Group Holdings’ SUI treasury strategy.

That messaging resonated strongly with investors seeking regulatory clarity amid increased scrutiny of digital asset markets.

For many market participants, the presence of a former CFTC Commissioner reduces perceived governance and compliance risk.

This regulatory signalling has become a meaningful catalyst for the SUI price rally.

Technical breakout confirms growing demand

Beyond governance headlines, the SUI price has delivered a decisive technical breakout.

SUI moved above the key $1.80 resistance level and continued higher toward $1.98, marking a multi-month high.

The breakout was supported by a sharp expansion in trading activity.

The 24-hour trading volume surged to approximately $2.19 billion, representing a 132% year-over-year increase.

A high trading volume during a resistance break is often interpreted as confirmation of trader conviction.

On-chain data further supports the bullish narrative.

Transaction activity on the Sui network has increased by roughly 30% since late November.

This rise suggests growing organic usage across decentralised finance (DeFi), gaming, and application-layer deployments.

Importantly, the market also absorbed a $65 million SUI token unlock on January 1 without sustained downside pressure.

Token unlock absorption is frequently viewed as a stress test of underlying demand.

SUI’s ability to maintain upward momentum following the unlock reduced fears of supply-driven sell-offs.

Together, these factors reinforced confidence that the rally was not purely speculative.

SUI price forecast

The near-term SUI price forecast remains constructive but increasingly dependent on key technical levels.

The former resistance zone around $1.85 now acts as an important support area.

Holding above this level would signal continued structural strength.

Below that, the 50-day exponential moving average (EMA) near $1.66 represents a critical medium-term support.

SUI price analysis
SUI price analysis | Source: TradingView

On the upside, sustained momentum could allow SUI to challenge the 100-day EMA near $2.00.

A successful break above $2.10 would likely attract trend-following capital and further volume expansion.

However, failure to hold above $1.85 could trigger short-term consolidation after the sharp rally.

SUI surges 17% on Mysten Labs promotion, eyes $2.3

6 January 2026 at 08:13

Key takeaways

  • SUI is up 17% in the last 24 hours and is now trading at $1.95.
  • The rally comes as Mysten Labs researchers explore privacy features for blockchains, placing Sui alongside Ethereum and Solana in the account-based model.

SUI tops $1.95 after 17% rally

SUI, the native coin of the Sui blockchain, is up 17% in the last 24 hours, making it the best performer among the top 20 cryptocurrencies by market cap. The coin is now trading at $1.95, close to a two-month high, thanks to this rally.

The rally comes following a recent paper by Mysten Labs researchers that explores privacy features for blockchains, placing Sui alongside Ethereum and Solana in the account-based model.

The paper places Sui firmly within the account-based model, alongside Ethereum and Solana. It also looked at how such systems could implement confidential balances, limited anonymity sets, or sender-receiver unlinkability using cryptographic primitives such as homomorphic encryption and zero-knowledge proofs.

In addition to that, on-chain and derivatives data suggest growing market participation. Data obtained from Santiment shows that the Sui ecosystem’s trading volume reached $967.43 million on Tuesday, the highest since early December. This surge suggests that traders are taking an interest in Sui again following the poor performance recorded last month.Β

According to DeFiLlama, Sui’s Total Value Locked (TVL) has been steadily rising since the end of December, reaching $1.04 billion on Tuesday.

Furthermore, CoinGlass’s derivatives data shows that SUI futures Open Interest (OI) at exchanges rose to $947.26 million on Tuesday, up from $685 million recorded a week ago.

SUI could surge to the $2.34 level

The SUI/USD 4-hour chart is bullish and efficient as Sui has added 34% to its value in the last seven days. The coin is now trading around $1.95 and could surge higher in the near term.Β

If the bullish trend continues, SUI could extend the rally toward the weekly resistance level at $2.34. The momentum indicators currently support further bullish movements.Β

SUI/USD 4H Chart

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) on the 4-hour chart is 85, above the overbought threshold, indicating strong bullish momentum.Β

Furthermore, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator shows a bullish crossover and rising green histogram bars above the neutral level.

However, if the market undergoes a correction,Β

On the other hand, if SUI corrects, it could extend the decline toward the 50-day EMA at $1.66.

Bitwise files for spot SUI ETF as competition intensifies in crypto fund market

19 December 2025 at 03:48
  • The proposed ETF would use Coinbase Custody and include staking and in-kind transactions.
  • Several asset managers are now competing to bring SUI-based ETFs to the US market.
  • Regulatory changes under the current SEC leadership are accelerating altcoin ETF activity.

Crypto asset manager Bitwise has formally filed a Form S-1 with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, seeking approval to launch a spot exchange-traded fund linked to SUI.

The proposal adds fresh momentum to the fast-expanding crypto ETF landscape, where issuers are increasingly targeting altcoins beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Rather than focusing on short-term market moves, the filing highlights how fund structures, custody choices, and regulatory positioning are evolving as competition intensifies.

With multiple firms now pursuing similar products, SUI is quickly becoming a key test case for the next phase of crypto ETFs in the US.

The proposed product, named the Bitwise SUI ETF, is designed to track the spot price of SUI, the native token of the Sui Network.

If approved, it would give investors direct exposure to SUI without requiring them to hold the asset themselves, reflecting growing institutional interest in simplified crypto access.

How Bitwise is structuring the ETF

The filing shows that Coinbase Custody has been selected as the custodian for the fund, underlining a continued reliance on established US-based crypto infrastructure.

Bitwise has not yet revealed the ETF’s ticker symbol or intended listing exchange, but the structure clearly focuses on holding spot SUI rather than futures or other derivatives.

One notable element of the proposal is the inclusion of staking. The ETF would be able to stake its SUI holdings, allowing it to earn additional tokens over time.

This approach could potentially enhance returns compared with products that only hold assets passively, although it also introduces additional operational considerations.

The filing also details in-kind creations and redemptions.

This means authorised participants would be able to exchange SUI tokens directly for ETF shares and vice versa, instead of using cash.

This structure is increasingly favoured by issuers as it can improve efficiency and reduce tracking error.

Rising competition around SUI products

Bitwise is not alone in targeting SUI.

Grayscale, 21Shares, and Canary Capital have already submitted filings for similar spot SUI ETFs, signalling a crowded field forming around the asset.

The growing interest follows recent regulatory developments, including the SEC’s approval of a 2x leveraged SUI ETF from 21Shares.

Although no spot SUI ETF has yet launched in the US, these filings suggest that issuers see a clearer regulatory path emerging.

SUI itself launched in 2023 and has climbed into the top tier of digital assets by market capitalisation, currently ranked 31st with a value of about $5 billion.

Bitwise has also integrated SUI into its 10 Crypto Index ETF, reinforcing the firm’s broader commitment to the network.

Market response and regulatory context

SUI’s market price showed little immediate reaction to the filing, trading near $1.40 and remaining more than 12% lower over the past week.

Market participants generally view ETF filings as longer-term signals rather than short-term price drivers.

The timing of the application is significant. Under SEC Chair Paul Atkins, the regulator has moved toward clearer and more standardised ETF listing frameworks.

This shift has already helped products linked to assets such as XRP, DOGE, and SOL advance through the approval process.

As more issuers push forward with altcoin ETFs, SUI’s progress may offer early insight into how far and how fast the US crypto ETF market can broaden.
