Acid rain sucks, particularly if you run a fancy university with lots of lovely statues outside. If you’d like to try and predict when it’s going to occur, you might like this project from [Mohammad Nihal].

When rain is particularly acidic, it’s usually because of the combination of sulfur dioxide or nitrogen dioxide and moisture in the atmosphere. This combination ends up making sulfuric acid or nitric acid that then falls to the ground as precipitation. The low-pH rain that results can harm ecosystems, melt statues, and just generally give everyone a hard time.

[Mohammed] decided to try and predict acid rain by building a simple device based on an Arduino Nano. It records SO2 levels with an MQ-136 gas sensor, and NO2 levels with an unspecified MEMS-based sensor. There’s also a DHT11 temperature & humidity sensor in the mix, which is important since moisture content plays a role. The Arduino reads these sensors and uses a simple predictive algorithm to create an “Acid Rain Risk Score” that is displayed on a 16×2 character LCD. It’s all wrapped up in a fun 3D printed enclosure that looks like a cloud.

There are some limitations to the device. Namely, it doesn’t necessarily have a great read on atmospheric SO2 and NO2 levels in the atmosphere, particularly at altitudes where rain is formed, because the sensor sits inside the device indoors. However, the basic concept is there, and improvements could certainly be made with some upgrades and further research.

Talking with The Block, Enlivex board chairman Shai Novik highlighted Rain’s infrastructure as the scalable backbone that their firm has been pursuing.

He equalled Rain’s dominance in prediction markets to Uniswap in decentralised trading. Novik said:

For us, that open-architecture model represents the scalable growth engine we were looking for. We view Rain as the foundational infrastructure layer for the industry, similar to how Uniswap underpins decentralized trading.

That means Enlivex is more than just purchasing RAIN.

The biopharma is investing in a decentralized prediction-market model poised to transform on-chain information marketplaces.

A unique approach to reduce volatility

Indeed, cryptocurrency and volatility go hand in hand, and that has repelled many institutional players from interacting with digital tokens.

In that context, the Rain Foundation will back Enlivex’s DAT launch with a grant that adjusts the firm’s entry price, with 0.95 as the initial mNAV (modified net asset value).

That reduced early-stage volatility as the biopharma will have a stabilised baseline to start its DAT strategy.

Rain’s native token led the gainers today.

The coin is trading at $0.007526 after a 110% uptick on its daily price chart.

Creating a virtual brain may sound like a science-fiction nightmare, but for neuroscientists in Japan and at Seattle’s Allen Institute, it’s a big step toward a long-held dream.

They say their mouse-cortex simulation, run on one of the world’s fastest supercomputers, could eventually open the way to understanding the mechanisms behind maladies such as Alzheimer’s disease and epilepsy — and perhaps unraveling the mysteries of consciousness.

“This shows the door is open,” Allen Institute investigator Anton Arkhipov said today in a news release. “It’s a technical milestone giving us confidence that much larger models are not only possible, but achievable with precision and scale.”

Arkhipov and his colleagues describe the project in a research paper being presented this week in St. Louis during the SC25 conference on high-performance computing. The simulation models the activity of a whole mouse cortex, encompassing nearly 10 million neurons connected by 26 billion synapses.

To create the simulation, researchers fed data from the Allen Cell Types Database and the Allen Connectivity Atlas into Supercomputer Fugaku, a computing cluster developed by Fujitsu and Japan’s RIKEN Center for Computational Science. Fugaku is capable of executing more than 400 quadrillion operations per second, or 400 petaflops.

The massive data set was translated into a 3-D model using the Allen Institute’s Brain Modeling ToolKit. A simulation program called Neulite brought the data to life as virtual neurons that interact with each other like living brain cells.

Scientists ran the program in different scenarios, including an experiment that used the full-scale Fugaku configuration to model the entire mouse cortex.

“In our simulation, each neuron is modeled as a large tree of interacting compartments — hundreds of compartments per neuron,” Arkhipov said in comments emailed to GeekWire. “That is, we are capturing some sub-cellular structures and dynamics within each neuron.”

During the full-scale simulation, it took no more than 32 seconds to simulate one second of real-time activity in a living mouse brain. “This level of performance — 32 times slower than real time — is quite impressive for a system of this size and complexity,” Arkhipov said. “It is not uncommon to see a factor of thousands of times slower for such very detailed simulations (even much smaller than ours).”

The researchers acknowledge that much more work is needed to turn their simulation into a model capable of tracing the progress of a neurological disease. For example, the model doesn’t reflect brain plasticity — that is, the brain’s ability to rewire its own connections.

“If we want to mention something specific besides plasticity, then one aspect that is missing is the effects of neuromodulators, and the other is that we currently do not have a very detailed representation of sensory inputs in our whole-cortex simulations,” Arkhipov said. “For all of these, we need much more data than currently available to make much better models, although some approximations or hypotheses could be implemented and tested now that we have a working whole-cortex simulation.”

Arkhipov said the project’s long-term goal is to simulate an entire brain, not just the cortex. “There’s a distinction between whole-cortex and whole-brain,” he pointed out. “The mouse cortex (and our model of it) contains about 10 million neurons, whereas the whole mouse brain contains about 70 million neurons.”

A human-brain simulation would require an even greater leap. The human cortex alone contains not just 10 million neurons, but 21 billion.

The good news is that a sufficiently powerful supercomputer might be up to the task. “Our work shows that very detailed microscopic-level simulations of larger brains may be possible sooner than previously expected,” Arkhipov said. “The results suggest that a simulation of the whole monkey brain (such as that of a macaque monkey with 6 billion neurons) can fit on the full-scale Fugaku system.”

Arkhipov said it was important to point out that creating a brain model on a supercomputer “does not mean that such a model is complete or accurate.”

“Here we are talking about technical feasibility of simulations, and it looks like such simulations even at the scale of the monkey brain are now within reach,” he said. “But to make such simulations biologically realistic, much more experimental data production and model building work would need to happen.”

Rin Kuriyama and Kaaya Akira of the University of Electro-Communications in Tokyo are the principal authors of the paper presented at SC25, titled “Microscopic-Level Mouse Whole Cortex Simulation Composed of 9 Million Biophysical Neurons and 26 Billion Synapses on the Supercomputer Fugaku.” In addition to Arkhipov, authors from the Allen Institute include Laura Green, Beatriz Herrera and Kael Dai. The study’s other authors are Tadashi Yamazaki and Mari Iura of the University of Electro-Communications; Gilles Gouaillardet and Asako Terasawa of the Research Organization for Information Science and Technology in Hyogo, Japan; Taira Kobayashi of Yamaguchi University; and Jun Igarashi of the RIKEN Center for Computational Science.

Purple weed is all the rage in Northern California cannabis clubs, as it’s highly sought after by both consumers and producers. Let’s explore this phenomenon and learn a few things about cannabis and its color. Do you see a strong demand for the color purple these days? Not for everyday use, because this color is very common, but if we’re talking about purple marijuana, that’s a different story. This is a translation of an article by Subcool, the TGA breeder.

The bud clusters of most marijuana varieties are essentially green, but at the end of the season, some elements may appear that can change the color of our fruits.

The intense green of chlorophyll usually hides the color of secondary pigments, but when chlorophyll begins to lose its dazzling green color at the end of the season, the anthocyanin pigments contained in plant tissues are exposed, and extraordinary colors appear during this period.

The purple color, resulting from an accumulation of anthocyanins, is very common in marijuana. This color change is generally triggered by a change in season and can be accelerated in an indoor grow by lowering the temperature by approximately 5°C.

This doesn’t mean that purple is controlled solely by the environment, as it is also a genetic trait. For purple to develop during ripening, a variety must have the genetically controlled metabolic potential to produce anthocyanin pigments and be receptive to environmental changes such as cold temperatures at night. This means that a variety may have the genetic potential to change color, but if conditions are not favorable, it will never do so.

I’ve been growing Jacks Cleaner genetics for a long time, and when I came to the West Coast, I found much cooler temperatures than I was used to, so I got some beautiful purple colorations during ripening.

There are other pigments that can modify the color of cannabis at the end of flowering, such as carotenoids, which are responsible for the yellow, orange, red, and brown colors that buds can take. I think this purple coloring effect is much easier to find in marijuana crops grown in soil with organic fertilizers, but for a strain to truly be called Purple, both the large leaves and the interior of the buds must be purple.

An aspect I find equally interesting is the ongoing debate about the potency of Purple marijuana. Among those of us who have grown marijuana with purple buds under certain conditions, such as some Black Russian phenotypes, we have noticed something that seems odd. When you grow females from a hybrid that produces both red and non-red females at the same time, the colored ones always seem to be less potent .

That’s not to say I’ve never smoked a great purple weed, though; for example, Urkle and Querkle (a TGA Urkle hybrid) both have amazing flavors and are very potent, making them favorite strains for many users.

I have friends who grow a local clone of Purple Urkle that has extraordinary flavor. It’s a variety only available as cuttings, native to Northern California. It’s easily one of the best-tasting purple varieties available, and it’s purple all the way to the center of the buds—the smallest part of the plant is purple!

I’d give it an 8 for the intensity of the effect, which is very noticeable. It’s a plant I shouldn’t miss and is, by far, my favorite. After consuming it for an entire afternoon, I realized its main attraction is the grape and lavender flavor it leaves on your lips.

Purps and Mendo Purps are both famous for their flavor, but I wasn’t impressed by the first Mendo I tried. It didn’t have a grape or berry flavor , but that may have been a poor-quality sample. We’ve also tried numerous red varieties in Amsterdam, but none stood out from the rest.

There are so many Purple marijuana clones in California that it’s hard to really know their exact origins, but I recently smoked a Sputnik 2 female with beautiful purple colors that knocked me out in 3 tokes. Badboy recently revived a strain called Purple Helmet that he describes as very tasty and is now growing. Double Purple Doja , a TGA creation, gets me on the couch, but I wouldn’t put it up against Apollo-13 or something like OG Kush .

Other Purple marijuana strains from Northern California:

Granddaddy Purple, Godfather Purple, Super Purple Kush, God’s Gift, Urkle, Purple Midnight, Purple Rainbow, Purple Princess, Purple Fire, Purple Cream, Purple Rainbow, Lavender, Purple Friday, Purple Magic, Ray’s Purple …

Most of these varieties can be found in garden clubs, but they may be the same varieties grown by different people under new names. I can’t confirm this, but several people believe the Urkle clone and the Lavender clone are the same plant.

Let’s continue exploring this paradox of color and potency. I recently tried Berry Surprise, and although it seemed exceptional, I didn’t even finish the sample because I didn’t really notice any flavor beyond the combustion. We’re currently growing Lavender and crossing it with some males to study the traits it transmits to its offspring.

Let’s see how we can enhance the colors of your cannabis garden.

The first trick to achieving beautiful color changes is to use an organic soil mix with a perfect NPK balance. This will allow the plant to utilize all available nitrogen before degrading its chlorophyll, allowing the red pigments to appear while the green color fades.

I’m sure this can be done in hydroponic cannabis growing, but since plants respond very quickly and absorb nutrients in the water very well, it will be easier for a hydroponic plant to be dazzling green, while a plant in organic soil will be bursting with color.

The second thing that can really make a difference is having a large thermal gap between day and night temperatures. With a simple, small climate control system and a well-designed grow tent, it’s easy to reach temperatures around 15°C when the lamps are off.

Once the bulbs are on, the temperature will easily hover around 25°C or more, which translates to a difference of more than 10°C. This will quickly trigger a strain’s color change if it contains the gene responsible for this trait. I must say, from experience, that this is a characteristic that most marijuana strains possess. Bringing in fresh air from outside during colder months can also be very helpful in adding color to your grow, and it will also deter insects. A flowering tent can even withstand very low temperatures if you don’t rely on the temperature of the hydroponic tank.

Purple weed buds

Finally, proper nutrient utilization is very important. If you apply nitrogen (N) too late in flowering, you’ll never see this color change and may even affect the flavor. I’ve noticed that plants that are deadheaded too early have a sweeter flavor, but in this case , there’s a significant loss of yield .

Using good catalysts can also help you a lot, such as citric acid and carbohydrates (sugars) that seem to accelerate the ripening process. I currently use them in the 4th week of flowering, as well as in the 6th week.

The Querkle strain was created by crossing a Urkle clone with a Space Queen male. You can see in the photos of Querkle that it has purple traces, which it also transmits to its offspring. It has become one of our most sought-after creations.

Choosing which strain to grow can sometimes be harder than deciding which TV show to start watching on a Sunday night. There are too many options, too many promises, and, of course, too many price differences. One seed costs €4, the one next to it €14. And of course, it’s normal to wonder: Is there that much of a difference? Am I paying for quality, marketing, or a cool English name tag? Spoiler alert: like most things, it depends.

Today, we want to explain why there’s such a difference in seed prices, whether it’s worth paying more for some genetics, and what you should consider before choosing your next seed to grow. Let’s get to it!

Elite genetics often excel in traits such as flavor, resin production, or THC content

The price of fame: Why are mainstream strains cheaper?

By now, we all know that growing Critical Mass or White Widow is like playing “Stayin’ Alive” at a party: it always works, there’s no room for error. These strains have been around for decades, have undergone countless selections, and have been thoroughly domesticated to deliver solid results, even in the most inexperienced hands.

The secret to their low price? Mass production, of course. These varieties are capable of producing a large number of seeds per square meter, so they’ve been manufactured and distributed in such volume that the cost per unit has been reduced to a minimum. There are no royalties or exclusivity: most are genetics that you can find in many different banks’ catalogs, as they know they can afford to lower margins because they’ll be selling a large quantity of them each season. It’s like buying rice: it’s not glamorous, but it does its job perfectly.

And be careful, this isn’t an attack. Mainstream genetics have plenty of merits: they’re easy to grow, predictable, resilient, and in many cases surprisingly tasty and productive. Furthermore, many of them are the pillars on which modern breeding rests. But, as with everything popular, their value lies not so much in surprise as in security. You already know what you’re going to get. And that, while comforting, will rarely excite you.

Elite genetics: unnecessary luxury or premium experience?

Here we enter the realm of the collector, the gourmet, the bud connoisseur. Elite genetics aren’t for everyone…and that’s part of their appeal. They’re like natural wines, single-origin coffees, or limited-edition sneakers: you pay more, yes, but not just for the product. Also, for the history, the process, and the exclusivity. And, let’s not fool ourselves, in some cases, also for the personal statement: “I grow this, not everyone else’s.”

Behind an elite strain are often years of genetic work. Obsessive breeders crossbreed, select, test, and discard plants like jewelers cutting diamonds. Sometimes, there’s a rare genetic line rescued from oblivion. Other times, an unexpected combination results in a terpene profile that smells like freshly baked cookies with a gasoline base. Or a cross may result in plants with absolutely exceptional trichome production—the dream of every resin extraction enthusiast.

Furthermore, many of these genetics come with the “Made in USA” label, which, in this sector, acts as a certificate of trend. From California dispensaries to European cannabis cups, the Yankee elite dominate the showcase with their potency, their exoticism, and yes, also their hype. The result: higher prices, limited stock, and much expectation. Logically, the fact that many American breeders work in batches, without repeating them and thus creating varieties with limited stock, causes their price to rise, and it can skyrocket if the variety itself is really good and gains some popularity. It’s a bit like luxury cars: it’s not just about the performance; they’re not mass-produced, and there’s no “infinite” stock; they’re products that are born with the label of exclusivity.

And in cultivation? Are they really worth it?

Good question. Because it’s all well and good to have a unique phenotype with a piña colada aroma and psychedelic effects… but if it then goes belly up in the third week of flowering, it’s bad business. Elite genetics can be more demanding to grow; some are stretch–prone, others are easily stressed, or their yields may not compare to the classic commercial hybrids produced decades ago in Europe.

Tips to avoid stretching cannabis plants

Of course, when you find one that fits your environment, your hands, and your tastes, the experience can be glorious. A well-cultivated elite doesn’t just give you a superior product; it changes the standard. Suddenly, the mainstream ones of the past seem “lacking.” Not because they’re bad, but because you’ve already tried them and have just discovered a whole new level.

The trick here is research. Not all elite varieties are capricious, nor are all mainstream varieties boring. The best thing you can do is look at grow reports or tastings, talk to fellow growers, and even try some premium seeds in your next round. Like someone who buys a designer garment on sale: for pleasure, curiosity, and enjoyment. You’ll likely discover the new queen of your garden in no time!

So, is it worth the jump?

Let’s cut to the chase: yes, in many cases, paying more for elite genetics is worth it. Not out of necessity, but out of enjoyment. Like someone who stops buying the same wine on sale to try a special bottle on a Saturday night, knowing that the pleasure it will give you is worth the extra money. If you’re one of those who have been smoking Criticals, Widows, or Dominas for years, you’ll probably be amazed by a Zkittlez, a Gelato, or a Cookies; they’re totally different flavors that will leave you speechless.

Growing elite varieties will allow you to discover a new world of flavors and effects

Growing elite genetics doesn’t make you a better grower, but it can make your growing experience richer, more fun, and more personal. It’s a way to explore, to play, to break away from routine, and to rekindle the excitement of discovering your beloved plant had more flavors than you imagined.

Of course, it’s not about abandoning the usual suspects. Mainstream strains are the foundation of this world, and many continue to offer spectacular results and can be an excellent choice for everyday use. But alternating them with elite genetics is like mixing classics with new releases on your playlist: it keeps you awake, curious, and wanting more.

So yes, it’s worth it. Even if it’s just once in a while, even if it’s just to treat yourself. Because you deserve a little high-end in your next grow, don’t you think?

This month Cathy picked Sigteboller or Danish Salty Rolls for the Bread Baking Babes to bake. Sigteboller, in Danish, roughly translates as “sifted buns” or “sieved rolls,” from sifting of flours used to make them. These rolls are typically made from a mix of rye flour and all-purpose flour.

Rye flour tends to produce denser bread but Sigteboller or Danish Salty Rolls are soft and fluffy and slightly chewy. They have a faint tang and are traditionally served with butter, cheese, cold cuts, or even smoked fish.

Cathy adapted her recipe from The Rye Baker, by Stanley Ginsberg. She gave us an option of using a pre-ferment/ poolish or a sourdough starter. I went with a pre-ferment/ polish because it gives me a hint of tang and a sourdough-ish crumb without going all sourdough.

Sigteboller or Danish Salty Rolls are made with rye flour. Rye flour isn’t something commonly found here where I live. So I used whole-wheat flour instead. I also used honey instead of molasses. I also didn’t use the suggested toppings of caraway seeds or sunflower seeds and left my rolls plain. These rolls are usually topped with flaked salt but I don’t like very salty breads so didn’t use that either.

It’s bread of the month time and all that for the Bread Baking Babes. Kelly picked An Approachable Loaf to bake. So what exactly is this bread all about? It’s a recipe at the WSU Bread Lab, for a loaf that’s got a really nice flavour and texture. It makes really good toast and stands up well in sandwiches.

As the people at the WSU Bread Lab say –

“Bread is a staple. People have been eating it for thousands of years. Yet bread can be unaffordable and inaccessible for many.  A lot of breads baked these days are large, crusty and round loaves which don’t always work well for lunches or our dinner tables. Others that are affordable and available on grocery shelves have unnecessary additives and lack nutrition.

So WSU Bread Lab came up with an approachable, accessible and affordable recipe that has no stabilizers or conditioners in it. It is tin-baked and sliced, with easily available ingredient sand at least 60-100% whole wheat.”

To my mind, this is what the average home bread baker is looking for. Those sourdough loaves with a very open crumb (hole-y bread, I call it) are a work of art. They’re also a sign of an accomplished bread baker. However, I’m not a fan of very chewy and tangy bread. Neither do I like a bread where my butter melts or my soup just disappears through the holes! Bread was meant to hold food or mop it up.

So the Approachable Loaf is a winner in my books. It’s not pure sourdough but what some sourdough bakers call a “hybrid” bread. This where you use a sourdough starter in your bread dough but use a miniscule amount of commercial yeast as well, to help your bread along. There are people who will ask why one would need to add commercial yeast to a sourdough bread? There are many sourdough bakers who resort to “yeast shaming” and feel commercial yeast has no business in a sourdough loaf. I belong to the school of “whatever-works-for you” bread bakers.

So for me, this is truly An Approachable Loaf. I really like the texture of this bread that I bake. It’s got a beautiful crumb, isn’t super chewy and has just the slight hint of “sour” that we like. It needs just flour, water, salt, a little oil and a sweetener. You start with a levain made with a sourdough starter the previous evening. The next day you mix up the dough with a little bit of commercial yeast and the levain. It’s a slightly slack dough but you can adjust the hydration to your comfort. Otherwise, it’s pretty much your regular bread with two easy rises and baked in a loaf tin.

My recipe below has been adapted from Kelly’s version of the Approachable Loaf recipe. You do need a sourdough starter. If you don’t have one in the fridge, you can start by making one like this. The levain below is a little more than you require for the bread. You can add the remaining levain to your starter and refrigerate it.

As mentioned earlier, you can add as much water (not too much though) to get a consistency of dough you’re comfortable managing. This is however, not a very hydration dough. A somewhat slack dough is desired to produce a slightly open and less dense crumb.

Booking a group ticket on Indian Railways is not a big deal if you know the entire process. IRCTC provides services for booking single or group tickets. IRCTC is a well-known company that is entirely owned by the Government of India and works under the Ministry of Railways.

Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) provide services like tourism, food plazas, and tickets booking facilities. You can easily book your group tickets from IRCTC official website or you can also book your group train tickets by contacting the controlling officer or chief Reservation Supervisor of the concerned reservation office in order to make permission to book tickets for more passengers. Here, step by step process for booking group ticket process is mentioned below.

Note: Train passengers should carry valid identity proof with them during the journey.

What is the Process to Book A Train Coach?

Firstly, you have to decide where you want to travel and how many people are travelling with you. Then, you have to make a proper list of passengers with their full names and age details. If you want to book an entire coach then you have to meet the chief reservation officer at the nearby station. If you planning to travel for the wedding then you need to take that wedding as valid proof. You have to hand over the list of passengers. The chief reservation officer will check the availability of the seats on the same date and timings then according to the availability of seats he will let you know and will give you further details.

As per the availability of seats and as per the situation he will guide if all the passengers will be accommodated in one compartment or they will be scattered in different groups. After confirming the availability of seats you have to pay for the tickets and booking amount and get the tickets booked according to the date of the journey. Always make sure that each and every passenger should carry their respective identity proof like an Aadhar card or any other identity proof.

Note: If you are travelling by train then you should always carry your identity proof in order to avoid any inconvenience.

Some important points:

• There are some important points that one should need to know before booking a coach for a group travelling through FTR services.
• No matter how many people are travelling with you but cannot book more than 7 coaches.
• If you are planning to travel with your group and book an entire coach then you should have to book the coach 30 days before the journey date. However, you can book your coach a maximum of 6 months before the date of the journey.
• You should have to know about the exact fare details of each coach.

Terms and Conditions For FTR Registration

Train journeys can be unforgettable and memorable at the same time. That is why many people in our country choose the train for their travelling purposes. There are certain Terms and Conditions that one should know before FTR Registration:

1. Booking Period: You should always make sure that FTR registration can be done a maximum of 6 months in advance so, always book your tickets according to the booking period. The minimum booking time is 30 days before the journey date.

2. Payment Awareness: If you are also planning to book an entire coach then you should be aware of fraud people. The party will provide booking type, journey details of coaches, and route. The party will get a reference number and registration amount to be paid, after the submission of the request. After that, the party will have to pay the registration amount against provided reference number to get the FTR number. You should have to receive the payment of the registration amount within 6 days (including the FTR request submission day). The FTR reference number will be flushed after 6 days.

3. Payment of Fare: This is advised by IRCTC that the full amount of payment should be paid 7 working days in advance or before the date intimated by IRCTC. Payment should be made as online transactions only.

4. Security Deposit: The party will provide the booking type, journey details of coaches, and a route of other details as in the online form along with the payment of registration cum security deposit of Rs. 50,000/-per coach. The party will be provided with an automatically generated reference number after the payment is made. This reference number may be quoted for all future correspondences.

5. Cancellation Policy: Before booking an entire coach you should know the details about cancellation polity because after making the payment if you want to cancel or extend your journey then you do not face any inconvenience. Some of the details about the cancellation policy are mentioned below:

• 5% of the security deposit will be charged if the FTR request is cancelled by the party before the receipt of provisional/ final approval is intimated by IRCTC.
• 50% of the chargeable fare is charged as cancellation charges If the cancellation is done within four hours of the scheduled departure of the train or afterwards.
• If the requisition of special train/ coaches is cancelled two days in advance before the scheduled day of the journey or earlier, 10% of Rs. 50,000/- per coach will be charged as cancellation charges.
• 25% of the chargeable fare is charged as cancellation charges if the cancellation is done one day in advance (excluding g the day of the journey) and up to four hours before the scheduled departure of the train.
• No charges will be levied in case the FTR request is found unfeasible/cancelled on IRCTC/Railway account. The full deposit will be refunded in such cases.

6. Permissible number of coaches:

• Coach Booking: This is to let you know that party can book maximum 10 numbers of coaches on FTR in a single train in one hour program.
• Train Booking: One party can book a maximum of 24 coaches in the FTR train including 2 mandatory SLR coaches.
• Refund Process: If you are planning to travel via train with your entire group then you will definitely book an entire coach but sometimes it happens that after making payment we use cancel our journey due to any reason then you don’t need to worry because Indian Railway had mentioned their refund policy in order to avoid any further inconvenience.
• In case of cancellation, either by a party or by Railway, a refund will be processed as per the existing manual process through the Chief Commercial Manager (PM) of the concerned Railway.

7. Registration Amount: Before booking your train or coach one must be aware of the amount of train or coach bookings.

• Coach Booking: The registration amount for booking a coach up to 7 days of the tour journey period is Rs. 50,000/-per coach. Beyond 7 day tour journey period, an additional Rs.10,000/- per day per coach will be payable and added to the registration amount.
• Train Booking: The registration amount for booking of a train, for a minimum of 18 coaches and up to 7 days of the tour journey period is Rs. 9,00,000. Beyond 18 passenger coaches, an additional Rs. The 50,000/-per coach will be added to the registration amount. For a tour period beyond 7 days, an additional Rs. 10,000 per day per coach will be added to the registration amount.

8. Registration of coaches/trains will never guarantee you the allotment of coaches/trains.

Other Rules and Conditions

The amount mentioned in this blog may change in case of any revision by the Railway Ministry from time to time. Getting registration does not mean that Indian railways are giving you a guarantee of the supply of coaches or trains. Next time whenever you plan to travel via train then do not forget to read all the rules and regulations mentioned by IRCTC (Indian Railways Catering and Tourist Corporation). This will be subject to operational feasibility and availability of coaches in Indian Railways.
