Adobe Photoshop comes to ChatGPT

10 December 2025 at 10:50

OpenAI's efforts to make ChatGPT the everything app are getting help from the internet's leading editing tools, with the launch of a new chatbot-Adobe Photoshop integration.

The partnership will let users harness the natural language processing power of ChatGPT to do the photoshopping for them, like fine tuning details, blurring backgrounds, and applying custom effects.

It's an effort to "make creativity accessible for everyone," Adobe digital media president David Wadhwani wrote. "Now hundreds of millions of people can edit with Photoshop simply by using their own words, right inside a platform that’s already part of their day-to-day.”

ChatGPT users can also access Adobe Express, the company's all-in-one content creation tool, and document manager Adobe Acrobat directly in chats, with the option to have ChatGPT generate and edit PDFs or customize premade documents with your personal information. Adobe has been exploring AI-assisted content generation over the last year, which included the recent debut of AI assistants for Photoshop and Adobe Express.

Meanwhile, OpenAI has pivoted to more consumer-facing products, like its new collaboration with grocery delivery service Instacart. Under the partnership, Instacart subscribers will be able to use ChatGPT to meal prep, shop, and order groceries at their request. The AI giant has been in a "code red," according to CEO Sam Altman, amping up its output and retooling its popular model in response to increased industry competition and declining users β€” the business is also facing multiple lawsuits.

Disclosure: Ziff Davis, Mashable’s parent company, in April filed a lawsuit against OpenAI, alleging it infringed Ziff Davis copyrights in training and operating its AI systems.

This Lego poinsettia is the ultimate holiday centerpiece, and its under $40

The Lego Icons Poinsettia set against a green background.

SAVE 21%: As of Dec. 10, the Lego Icons Poinsettia (10370) building set is on sale for $39.35, down from $49.99. That's a 21% discount or a $10.64 price cut.

If you’re stumped on what to get your friends or loved ones this year, you might want to check out Lego’s latest deals. While the Black Friday and Cyber Monday prices are long gone, there are still a few deals worth a look.

As of Dec. 10, the Lego Icons Poinsettia (10370) building set is on sale for $39.35, down from $49.99. That's a 21% discount or a $10.64 price cut. This isn’t the best price we’ve seen on this set, but any money saved during the holiday season is a win.

This set is designed for adults, although teens and advanced tweens could likely assemble it without too much trouble. It has 608 pieces and includes the poinsettia plant and the flowerpot. Once constructed, the model stands over eight inches tall and makes a great holiday centerpiece for any table or office desk. And, unlike real flowers, this one doesn’t require water, and you can adjust the posable leaves and star-shaped red bracts to get the look just right.

Considering over 20,000 of these were bought just last month, this is a clever gift if you’re still scrambling for last-minute ideas.

The DJI Power 2000 portable power station is at its lowest price ever β€” almost half off

10 December 2025 at 10:25
the DJI power 2000 on a pink and purple background

SAVE $600: The DJI Power 2000 is on sale at Amazon for $699, down from the list price of $1,299. That's a 46% discount that matches the lowest we've ever seen at Amazon.

We're in the thick of unstable weather these days. Our social media and news feeds are filled with weather warnings of atmospheric rivers, wind advisories, and cold snaps. That means power outages are plentiful. If you're not interested in dealing with the inconvenience that entails, a portable power station could be the best solution, and there's a major sale in store today.

As of Dec. 10, the DJI Power 2000 is on sale for $699 at Amazon, marked down from the usual price of $1,299. That works out to a savings of $600 from a 46% discount. It also matches the lowest we've ever seen at Amazon.

DJI is a favorite brand among content creators, making a phenomenal lineup of drones, cameras, and mics. But it's worth paying attention to the DJI power station lineup, too. In my testing of portable power stations, the DJI Power 2000 is the perfect model for creators.

Thanks to the dual SDC ports, drone owners can utilize DJI's fast charging. Other port options include two 140W USB-C, two 65W USB-C, four 24W USB-A, three AC, and even a 30amp.

In real-life situations, the DJI Power 2000's 2,048Wh can keep a WiFi router powered on for over 150 hours or a refrigerator for about 40 hours. Both of those will sure come in handy during the next power cut. Of course, you'll also be able to keep phones charged up.

Keep in mind, DJI is facing issues with getting products into the U.S., and it's nearly impossible to purchase directly from DJI right now. Instead, this Amazon deal is sold by a third-party seller. Mashable generally advises against buying from these sellers on Amazon, but DJI products have proven to be an exception since third-party is often the only way to snag a DJI product right now (and this one has positive ratings). Due to the nature of shipping portable power stations, the DJI Power 2000 is listed as non-returnable at Amazon, which is something to keep in mind before buying.

If this doesn't sound appealing, consider the DJI Power 1000, which is currently on sale for $349 or 50% off its normal price of $699. This sale price on Amazon is offered directly by DJI. You'll be halving the power offered from the DJI Power 2000, but it's also half the price.

In either case, DJI makes solid portable power stations. If you're looking for better protection during the next storm, the DJI Power 2000 is down to the record-low price of $699 today.

Bose QuietComfort headphones are now 50% off in a better-than-Black Friday deal

The Mashable Shopping team has spilled a lot of ink about our love for Bose headphones. Every single model in the brand's lineup has sounded fantastic and fit comfortably on different head shapes in our testing, so you can't go wrong with any pair. Are they pricier than other decent headphones we've tried? Yes, but they're also quite easy to find on sale (and worth the hassle of doing so).

Blessedly, I just found some Bose cans marked down to well under $200. The standard QuietComforts are now sale for just $179 at Amazon and Best Buy (normally $359). That's not their lowest price ever β€”Β they were $159.99 on Cyber Monday β€”Β but it's $20 better than their $199 Black Friday deal for a full 50% off.

This deal applies to three colorways at both retailers: sandstone, limited-edition moonlight gray, and limited-edition petal pink. The other variants are still stuck at $199.

The Bose QCs are our runner-up pick for those who don't want to splurge on the $450 flagship Bose QC Ultras, which have added spatial audio support. "The average person will be more than satisfied with the [Bose QC] headphones' full, rounded sound," said shopping reporter Samantha Mangino, our reviewer. "Plus, they're great for the student who needs noise cancellation ... and a long battery life to survive endless study sessions." They're rated for 24 hours of use per charge.

The statue comes with two coins as well, so you can pretend Mario himself has hopped on the plant's head to eliminate it. Zendaya and Robert Pattinson plan the wedding from hell in The Drama teaser

10 December 2025 at 09:57
Robert Pattinson and Zendaya in

A24 has released the first teaser for their upcoming film The Drama, and you can cut the tension between stars Zendaya and Robert Pattinson like a wedding cake.

Directed by Kristoffer Borgli (Dream Scenario), The Drama follows happily engaged couple Emma and Charlie (Zendaya and Pattinson) in the lead-up to their wedding. According to the film's official synopsis, all seems blissful until "an unexpected turn sends their wedding week off the rails."

The cracks between Emma and Charlie are already beginning to show in The Drama's teaser, which sees the couple posing awkwardly for their wedding photographer (Materialists' Zoe Winters). No matter how hard she tries to get them to smile, the pair appear unable to muster up genuine looks of love. Not a great problem for a soon to be married couple to have!

Neither Zendaya nor Pattinson are strangers to intense couple dramas. 2021's Malcolm and Marie saw Zendaya and John David Washington locked in an extended fight over the course of one evening. And just this year, Pattinson went toe to toe with a blazing Jennifer Lawrence in Lynne Ramsay's Die My Love.

So what will happen when these two stars join forces? From the looks of The Drama's teaser, the answer is, well, lots of drama. We're talking chugging alcohol in your wedding dress, almost getting into car crashes, having a bloody nose at a wedding levels of drama.

The Drama also stars Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, and Hailey Gates.

The Drama hits theaters Apr. 3, 2026.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 teaser unveils live-action Toph in all her glory

10 December 2025 at 09:30
Miya Cech as Toph in

Avatar: The Last Airbender fans, do you hear that rumbling? That sound of earth shaking, of other benders cowering in fear, of total and complete badassery? That can only mean one thing: Toph Beifong is here.

Hinted at all the way back in Sept. 2024, the fan-favorite Avatar character takes center stage in the new teaser for Season 2 of Netflix's live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender. Played by Miya Cech, she's an earthbender unlike any other. Toph is blind, but she can still "see" the world around her thanks to her seismic sense, which the teaser displays in greyscale, just like the original animated series did. Toph will go on to become Aang's (Gordon Cormier) earthbending teacher, proving a key part of his Avatar journey.

The Season 2 teaser offers up other glimpses of iconic moments from The Last Airbender's Book Two: Earth. Toph's introduction as the Blind Bandit at Earth Rumble Six is a standout, as are the first looks at her unique bending style.

Elsewhere, the teaser shows off Aang and Katara (Kiawentiio) battling the sea serpent living in the Serpent's Pass, Sokka (Ian Ousley) and Suki (Maria Zhang) squaring off against Mai (Thalia Tran) and Ty Lee (Momona Tamada), and Iroh (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee) teaching Zuko (Dallas Liu) how to redirect lightning. Of course, that means we also see more of Azula's (Elizabeth Yu) lightning bending, as the Princess of the Fire Nation takes on a greater role this season.

But in the end, the teaser remains Toph's world. Everyone else is just living in it.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 premieres on Netflix in 2026.

Google Maps on iOS now remembers where you parked

10 December 2025 at 08:05
Google Maps

Google Maps on iOS has a new feature that could save you a few minutes of aimlessly walking through a parking lot.

The feature, announced by Google Maps senior product manager Rio Akasaka and reported by MacRumors, is available on iOS β€” and it's very simple to use.

Connect your iPhone's Google Maps app to your car via CarPlay, Bluetooth, and USB. Once you're done driving, Google Maps will remember where you parked by dropping a pin on the map with a label "You parked here." The pin will disappear once you drive away.

The feature essentially automates Google Maps' old "Save where you parked" feature, which is still available, along with the tool that shows you where you can find a park.

The ability to remember parking spots was added to Google Maps about a month ago, but it was slightly visually enhanced last week. Now, if you have a custom vehicle icon set in Google Maps, you'll see it on your parking spot on the map (instead of the somewhat boring "P" icon).

If you're wondering where you can set that custom vehicle icon, here are the instructions: Open Google Maps, start Navigation, tap the blue arrow (or the car icon if you've previously changed it), and select your preferred driving avatar (icon) by swiping left or right).

While you're here, we've got Google Maps guides for how to turn your location off and on with your iPhone, how to download Google Maps, how to turn on 3D buildings in navigation, how to save locations, and other Google Maps tips and tricks.

Stephen Colbert weighs in on Paramount trying to outbid Netflix for Warner Bros.

10 December 2025 at 07:37
A man in a suit stands on a talk show stage.

Paramount is currently trying to overtop Netflix's bid to buy Warner Bros., and Stephen Colbert β€” who works for Paramount-owned CBS, and whose show is due to end next April due to its controversial cancellation β€” has something to say about the big figures being thrown around.

"Friday we learned that Netflix put in a bid to acquire Warner Brothers for $82.7 billion," the Late Show host says in the clip above. "That's a lot of cash. You know what that means? Someone, somewhere, must be paying for their own Netflix account. But just yesterday morning my beloved parent company, Paramount, reportedly launched a hostile takeover bid for Warner Brothers valued at $108 billion. Wow. I gotta say, if my company's got that kind of green, I'm sure they can afford to uncancel one of their best shows."

The Late Show-loaded comment leads to cheers and a growing chant of "Stephen, Stephen!"

"CBS, you heard the people!" cries Colbert. "Bring back The Equalizer!"

The impact of age verification: VPN use doubles, porn traffic plummets

10 December 2025 at 07:14
Illustration of a laptop with the word

Porn has taken a hit in the UK in the wake of the introduction of compulsory age verification this year, according to communications regulator Ofcom.

VPN usage more than doubled, while porn viewership plummeted following the enforcement of age checks, per Ofcom's Online Nation report, released Wednesday.

Prior to July 25, when age verification became mandatory in the UK, VPNs had around 650K daily users. By mid-August, 1.5 million users were accessing VPNs, and by November that number had declined to 900K.

Porn sites, meanwhile, saw a sharp drop in users in the immediate aftermath of the law coming into effect, according to the report. Pornhub, the largest UK porn service, saw a dramatic decrease in traffic in the month after age checks came into play. In August, Pornhub's total website visitors was down by 1.5 million compared to August 2024 (11.3 million in Aug. 2024 compared to 9.8 million in Aug. 2025). Since then, traffic to the top 10 most-visited porn services has stayed at a "lower level" than prior to July.

The UK's new Online Safety Act states that websites with explicit content are legally required to install age-checks for all users, so minors don't access the content. Any websites or apps that fail to comply will be liable for fines of Β£18 million or 10 percent of worldwide revenue.

Five million age checks are now completed on a daily basis in the UK, according to the Age Verification Providers Association (AVPA). And, per Ofcom's report, 7.8 million visitors from the UK are accessing adult sites which have rolled out age checks.

Age checks are not only impacting those accessing pornography online. Newsletter platform Substack announced in Nov. 2025 that it would require UK users to complete age checks in order to comply with the law. Dating apps including Feeld, Tinder, Hinge, and Bumble also announced that they would comply with the country's requirements.

Child safety is at the core of the Online Safety Act. That being said, research shows that age verification laws do not succeed in keeping minors away from adult content.

As Mashable associate editor Anna Iovine has reported, "Experts have long told Mashable that these laws won't work for their intended purpose of keeping minors off pornographic websites." Experts have also expressed serious concerns about the broader impact of these laws on the way adults access the entire internet, not just porn.

The Daily Show slams the White Houses plan to improve airports with workout spaces

10 December 2025 at 06:44
Ronny Chieng presents The Daily Show beside an image of Sean Duffy.

Donald Trump's transportation secretary Sean Duffy wants to improve airports, announcing $1 billion in funding for grant programs on Monday. In a press conference for his "Make Travel Family Friendly Again" initiative, Duffy suggested possible additions for airports, all of which The Daily Show's Ronny Chieng went through with a fine-toothed comb.

For starters, Duffy suggested, "Maybe you want to have a different lane for families to get through TSA."

"How are you the transportation secretary?" Chieng said. "Your big idea is the same one every annoyed dad has at the airport. 'Hey, just open another lane!'"

Next, Duffy proposed expanding play areas for kids at airports.

"Yeah, expand the airport play areas. Those things are basically pandemic laboratories," said Chieng. "Hey, I have an idea, how about every kid from around the world gets together and swaps viruses before they get on a new flight?"

Finally, Duffy recommended "a workout area where people might get some blood flow and doing some pull ups or some step ups in the airport."

"You think people want to work out in transit at the airport?" asked Chieng. "Everyone at the airport is already exhausted from traveling, alright? We can't even walk to the gate, you had to invent floors that walk for us. Also, this is the same guy who wants us to dress up when we fly. So what, now I'm doing pull ups in a tuxedo before I jump on a 12-hour flight to Hawaii? Why don't you just throw in a hot yoga room in the terminal so everyone really smells like shit when they board the plane?"

David Letterman sticks up for Jimmy Kimmel over his ongoing Trump feud

10 December 2025 at 06:18
A man in a suit sits on a talk show. The caption at the bottom reads,

Donald Trump has been making negative comments about the various late night hosts for a long time now, but he seems to have a particular grudge against Jimmy Kimmel β€” something the late night host's guest David Letterman raised on Tuesday night's Jimmy Kimmel Live! show.

"People are aware of the fact that you are the leader of the resistance?" asks Letterman in the video above, before lending his support to Kimmel.

"Speaking of leaders, let me just say one thing here. I'm going to suck up to you, because I feel like if I kind of tag along with you I'll be glorified in retrospect. Now this is irrespective of party or political ideology. If the leader of the free world is a fool, the leader of the free world then should expect and examine every bit of ridicule he receives."

Elsewhere, Amber Ruffin also stuck up for Seth Meyers over the comments Trump has made about the Late Night host.

Sam’s Club is often talked about as a budget hack, and for good reason. Buying pantry staples, cleaning supplies, and household essentials in bulk can cut annual costs dramatically, especially for families, small businesses, or anyone who likes to keep their home stocked.

Gas prices, too, are consistently lower at member-exclusive fuel stations. When you add up weekly groceries, seasonal items, pet food, snacks for school, and all the little things that sneak into the cart, it’s a win across the board.

But it’s also an easy way to upgrade your lifestyle. Members get access to travel discounts, savings on prescriptions, optical services, tires, and even deals on hotel stays, car rentals, and live events. It’s the kind of membership that quietly supports the rest of your life β€” helping you stretch your budget while freeing up time spent running around between stores.

With the holidays approaching and budgets feeling tight, grabbing a 1-year membership for half off is a low-effort way to save more and stress less.

Visio’s whole purpose is to turn complex information into something people can look at and immediately get. You’ll have access to dozens of templates, thousands of shapes, and Microsoft’s entire online shape ecosystem β€” more than 250,000 options in total.

Whether you’re making a flowchart, an org chart, a network map, or even a floor plan, Visio gives you a clean starting point so you’re not shaping everything from scratch.

One really handy perk: you can automatically generate org charts from an Excel file, a directory, or Microsoft Entra ID. You can also link visuals to live data, so your diagrams stay up to date as your information changes.

Visio Professional adds even more templates and collaboration tools, plus support for standards like BPMN 2.0 and UML 2.5, which is great if you work in technical or business-heavy fields.

It’s a one-time purchase that won’t be around forever at this price. Get lifetime access to Microsoft Visio 2021 Professional for just $12.97 (reg. $249.99) while you can.

NEAR MARKET VALUE: PokΓ©mon TCG's Mega Lucario ex Premium Figure Collection is $41.34 at TCGplayer, which is undercutting Amazon's $47.75 listing by just over $6.

There's no real reason why you should be paying over $6 more for the same product, even if you do get faster shipping, but if you really want to only wait a day with prime shipping, Mega Kangaskhan ex Box is near market value on Amazon right now. At the same time, this product is available for only $41.34 on TCGplayer, which is the deal I'd take every day of the week.

Mega Khangaskhan ex is a great card to have for card farming early on in a battle by using its Run Errand ability, that allows trainers to draw two draws per turn. Unfortunately this ability can't be stacked, which would also be ridiculously overpowered and game breaking. It's also a basic PokΓ©mon, so you can get this into play as soon as you draw it.

The best chase cards you can pull from Destined Rivals and Mega Evolution

Big box PokΓ©mon TCG products aren't usually great for trying to pull chase cards considering you only get a handful of booster packs, but there's always a chase. It usually works out cheaper over time just buying the card you want straight up, which is where TCGplayer shines by offering a tracked marketplace with rated sellers.
