Truthful Facts About Growing Marijuana Indoor – Time Factor

Truthful Facts About Growing Marijuana Indoor – Time Factor, It Takes Longer Than You Think. This is the first in a series of articles I’m calling; Truthful Facts About Growing Pot Indoors.

I’ll be posting them over the next few weeks. I love to read your comments and answer questions. Please use the comment section after each page or article.  Thanks!!

It’s a great idea; grow your own and save some money, you’ll know exactly what you have, you’ll know how it was grown and you will save some of your hard earned cash in exchange for a little labor.

The problem is how long it takes to get your first crop versus just running to the store (or finding the weed guy) and buying a bag of weed whenever you need it. The answer is to buy enough reefer to get you through the 147 days you’ll need before you can smoke your pot.

You can start your first grow from seeds or a female clone.

Seeds take from a couple of days to around 12 to sprout. Once they sprout and grow for a few weeks in a peat ring, they are ready to be transplanted into your large pot. I suggest 6 or 7 gallon pots but use whatever fits your grow area. Read this article about pot size.

Once they are transplanted, start the flowering cycle (switch your lights to 12 hours on and 12 hours off) to find out which plants are boys and which ones are girls.

It can take up to 15 days or so for the girls to show themselves. Once that happens, you can toss the male plants and switch the girls back to the vegetative light schedule you’re using.

Once you find your girls; they will have tiny wisps of white hairs and you’ll see tiny little buds starting to grow, boys will show little ball sacks, move the boys out and revert back to the vegetative cycle (GLR or 18 hours on 6 hours off), and let them to grow for another 50 days than they’ll be ready for flowering.

female plant and male pot plant

When plants revert they will grow a few odd shaped leafs through the flowers. They don’t hurt anything; you can snip them off or let them grow out.

Restart the flowering cycle by switching back to the 12 hours on 12 hours off lighting schedule.

Of course depending on strain, your flowers reach their full potential and size when the trichomes start turning amber in from 45 to 60 days or possibly longer.

NOTE: the time frames listed are approximate and are dependent on the strain you’re growing, the grow environment and your skills as an indoor gardener. For example; not adhering to a strict light cycle of 18 hours on and 6 hours off. For the best grow, you want the lights the same every day and you MUST refrain from disturbing your girls when the lights are off. Just let them be.

12 days to sprout

15 days as a seedling

10 days of lights on the flowering cycle to sex the plants

50 days vegetative cycle depending on your strain and environment

60 days in the flower cycle.

Total = 147 days for your harvest.

You’ll also need another 14 days to dry and cure your buds giving you a total of 161 days.

You can cheat a little and pick young small buds but before you know it you will have smoked the whole plant. A good way to dry fresh bud you want to sample is using a portable oil heater.

Read the full article about drying wet bud here.

There are many more tips and tricks about growing your own pot at Growing Weed Indoors. Soil mix, nutrients, lighting schedule and equipment used to grow awesome pot; the kind of pot where you’re feeling it after one hit from a one hitter, are fully explained.

Growing marijuana is a whole lot easier with a little help from people like me who actually grow weed indoors at home. This is an important fact when reading or watching how to grow articles and videos. Is it really from somebody with a stealth grow or somebody just trying to sell you something?

OG Kush Seeds

By: press
5 December 2022 at 09:19

From these original 7 OG Kush seeds (1st photo below) I grew 49 plants after sexing them and taking clones from the females. Presently I have 4 plants near completion and I could have keep going by cloning but I grew tired of OG Kush and will be growing something different this winter.

NOTE:  I grew Girl Scout Cookies Extreme and Gold Leaf. GSCE seeds are on sale right now.

Stay tuned for that. I’m going to try some hemp too! My plan; grow hemp and marijuana indoors and make my own CBD oil or at least set up a press that will be used to press the flowers under pressure and collect the I’m not sure what it’s called.

In this group, there were 17 plants growing nicely in my grow room as shown in the photos below.

I lived in a 100 year old house. The house was for sale for 3 years and finally somebody gave a cash offer. That meant no inspection but I had to vacate in 3 weeks or the deal was off.

I found a place to move to about 7 miles away and packed up.

I hardly ever have bag seed anymore so I buy my seeds from Robert Bergman.  He’s safe and honest with guaranteed shipping.

The last thing I moved were my plants. There were a few problems that had to be fixed in the new house so I had to hide 17 plants for 2 weeks while contractors were in and out. It was a major pain, I couldn’t set up proper lights, my girls were suffering and I was afraid of them morphing so I decided to harvest after only 5 weeks of flowering.

This cost me dearly in yield and quality but surprisingly the weed was good.

Below is a gallery of photos from seed to harvest.

There was really nothing I could do because of the strangers coming in and out of the house. Luckily I kept the mother going in a closest and I was able to take 4 more clones so as soon as the new house was done I had 4 plants growing that will be ready in about 4 more weeks.

How To Change The Flowering Cycle Back To The Vegetative Stage or Cycle

By: press
2 December 2022 at 08:00

How To Change The Flowering Cycle Back To The Vegetative Stage or Cycle. Basically: Flower Light Cycle is 12 hours on and 12 hours off and the Veg Light Cycle is 18 hours on and 6 hours off.

  1. I have reverted plants that were in the flower cycle for up to 3 weeks back to the veg cycle with no problems other than losing time.
  2. All you have to do is change your flowering light cycle of 12 hours on and 12 hours off to 24 hours on for about 10 days.
  3. Your plants will start reverting back to the veg cycle.
  4. You will see single leaves starting to grow out of the buds – that’s normal –
  5. After 10 days, change the 24 hours on back to the vegetative lighting schedule you use, we use GLR
  6. Be very strict during the off hours – allow no light to come in – don’t open the door – be patient!

A time consuming task but one that has to be done, is figuring out the males from the females when you’re growing from regular seed. We’ve been growing weed for over 40 years and still can’t tell a female from a male until they flower for a week or two.

IMO-growing from regular seed is better than using feminized or auto flowering seeds. Regular seed will give you a larger, more robust plant that you can easily clone. Check out this link to find out where I get my marijuana seeds.

Many growers can tell, or at least claim they can spot a girl from a boy and there are many articles and videos about it, but we can’t figure it out. So we’re stuck; when we grow from seed, we have to allow seedlings to grow for awhile in the vegetative cycle than start flowering them (switch from 18 hours of light to 12 hours of light) so we can figure out who’s who. ir?t=growingweedindoors 20&l=li2&o=1&a=B01IW8M31U

After you switch your lighting schedule to 12/12; to tell a male from a female, look for little balls (male plants) that start to form and get rid of those plants, (we do save one to pollinate 1 female for seeds).  Sometimes the little balls start forming in a couple of days and sometimes it takes a week or two.

Female and male marijuana plants

Now we have to switch back to the vegetative cycle

Once we have our girls (they have white wispy hairs/no little balls) figured out, we change the flowering light cycle back to the vegetative cycle. We start with 24 hours light for about 10 days then switch to the GLR.

You’ll notice weird looking single leafs growing up through the little buds. Don’t worry about them, just pick them off if they make you nervous or leave them.

After 10 days of 24 on, we change back to our normal veg lighting schedule, we use the GLR (Gas Light Routine) for the remaining time in the veg cycle (now you can see why clones are so much better to start with).

Even though the plants initially look a little weird, they grow out into normal looking plants in a short while. Once you have a group of female plants growing in the vegetative cycle, you can start taking clones when the lower branches get to be around 3″ long or so.

All in all it can take around 3 weeks to differentiate the boys from the girls so it makes a lot of sense to keep a mother plant growing so you can take female clones anytime you need them.

What are Heated Tobacco Products

By: Weed Man
28 November 2022 at 08:26

Sometimes marketed as “heat-not-burn” products, heated tobacco products come in many forms. Some heated tobacco products use electronic heating elements similar to the Kardinal Stick. Some heat specially-designed sticks, plugs, or capsules containing tobacco. This is how the electronically heated tobacco product authorized for sale in the United States works.

Some work by heating liquids that create an emission that then passes through a tobacco plug to absorb flavor and nicotine from the tobacco. Some have a sealed part of the device that heats loose tobacco, either alone or together with flowers from the marijuana (cannabis) plant. Some are used with flavorings.

Some allow users to control factors such as the temperature. Some heated tobacco products have a similar size and shape as regular cigarettes and have a carbon tip wrapped in glass fibers that the user heats with a lighter or match. Federal law allows this type of product to be sold in the United States.

What are the Health Effects of using Heated Tobacco Products

Heated tobacco products are still new in the United States, and scientists are still learning about their short- and long-term health effects.
The use of any tobacco product—including heated tobacco products—is harmful, especially for youth, young adults, and pregnant women, as well as adults who do not currently use tobacco products.

Regardless of whether they are heated by flame or electronically, heated tobacco products contain nicotine. Nicotine is highly addictive.
Nicotine exposure can also harm the developing adolescent brain. The brain keeps developing until about age 25.1Using nicotine in adolescence can harm the parts of the brain that control attention, learning, mood, and impulse control.

Using nicotine in adolescence may also increase the risk for future addiction to other drugs. Nicotine is toxic to developing fetuses.

Are Heated Tobacco Products Less Harmful than Regular Cigarettes

The emissions created from heated tobacco products generally contain lower levels of harmful ingredients than the smoke from regular cigarettes. However, that does not mean heated tobacco products are safe.

Research suggests that heated tobacco products and their emissions contain many of the same harmful ingredients as regular cigarettes, as well as other harmful ingredients not present in regular cigarettes.

Additional research is needed to determine whether adult cigarette smokers who completely switch to heated tobacco products might reduce their risks of tobacco-related disease. Studies from other countries suggest that most adults who use heated tobacco products have not quit using cigarettes. Surveys of young adults in the U.S. suggest that young adults also use heated tobacco products in combination with other tobacco products. Use of multiple tobacco products is associated with increased risk for nicotine dependence and adverse health effects.

As of February 2022, the FDA has authorized only one heated tobacco product system (IQOS and three of its tobacco-containing Heatstick products) to be marketed as modified risk tobacco products. These were the first tobacco products to receive “exposure modification” orders. These specific products may be marketed with claims that a person who uses regular cigarettes and fully switches to IQOS can reduce their exposure to harmful chemicals.

Similar claims may not be made about other heated tobacco products or about secondhand exposure to emissions from these products. In addition, the manufacturer of IQOS may not claim that using IQOS reduces the risk of disease, that the products are endorsed or approved by the FDA, or that the FDA deems the products to be safe for use by consumers.

5 of the Best Magic Mushroom Strains for Beginners

magic mushrooms

5 of the Best Magic Mushroom Strains for Beginners; Psilocybin, a remarkable compound found in magic mushrooms, is responsible for the extraordinary psychedelic experience. It gives the user otherwordly visuals that are not commonly seen, a sense of being one with their surrounding, and an uplifting sensation. These experiences can be why many people seek magic mushrooms in Ontario or anywhere in Canada.

If you are interested in seeking the magical effects of shrooms as a beginner, you need to find one that will suit your experience, and you’ll have to read more about what you need to do as a first-time user. Using Psilocybe cubensis is safe, but you must know what dose and strain will best work.

Benefits

As mentioned earlier, the psychedelic experience is one of the reasons why people buy shrooms in Canada. However, a few users also take them because it offers an excellent way to alleviate mental health symptoms and behavioural disorders.

In a study, psilocybin is used to help patients suffering from depression and anxiety while facing terminal cancer. More than four years after getting the dose along with psychotherapy, cancer patients who were administered psilocybin reported decreases in anxiety, depression, hopelessness, demoralization, and death anxiety. However, it is not the only study that has shown the excellent effect of psilocybin in alleviating symptoms of depression and anxiety.

Some studies exist on the relationship between psilocybin and its treatment with substance abuse like alcohol, nicotine, and cocaine. Furthermore, there are other ongoing research studies on how psilocybin can induce the growth of new neurons.

Five Strains you Must Try

All the promising benefits of psilocybin and the psychedelic effects it induces can be some reasons people would like to give shrooms a try. If you are one of them, here is a list of the best strains you can use as a beginner.

Golden Teacher

Of all the existing Psilocybe cubensis, Golden Teacher is the most popular for beginners. It rises to fame in the late 1980s. Although its origins are unclear, its moderate potency became ideal for novice and expert users. It’s one of the most widespread varieties on the market. You can easily find them at online dispensaries.

They are large with broad golden crowns that grow on their sturdy stem as it matures. The golden brown colour of its cap was the source of its name. However, when dried, they look different from how they were described. The dried form is the best option for storing your mushrooms.

The name “Teacher” is given to this mushroom because of the psychedelic effects it provides. Taking them results in a profound experience that can give the user a new outlook on life.

Cambodian Mushrooms

Beginners might consider the Psilocybe cubensis from Cambodia. John W. Allen initially discovered them in the Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia, hence the name.

It is less potent than well-known, powerful mushrooms like Liberty Cap. Hence, it makes it an ideal beginner’s strain. However, even regular users can use them to enjoy uplifting and increased energy. It is said not to produce strong visuals, which can be perfect for relaxation.

B+ Cubensis

Since the 1990s, B+ has been the best-selling P. cubensis in the market. It has a higher-than-average potency that you can experience, but beginners can enjoy them in a lower dose. It is supposed to be a very adaptable cubensis; if you set an intention, it will gladly follow and assist you in creating the ideal frame of mind.

B+ is believed to be genetically produced from the potent Flying Saucer mushroom and a Psilocybe cubensis.

Alacabenzi

When used in high doses, it is said to have potent physical and spatial effects followed by noticeable warping of balance. However, it can induce a pleasant psychedelic high in modest doses, although using this requires staying in.

Beginners can take them in small or lower doses since they won’t offer an extreme psychedelic experience. Instead, it has a calming effect on the body and mind.

Z Strain

A stimulating cubensis hybrid known as the Z Strain or Z Cube is likely to represent a genetic isolate of the Golden Teacher. This uplifting strain resonates with energy, clarity, attention, and creativity; indeed, you can feel concentrated and invigorated. It is ideal for enhancing the mind, body, and well-being.

Due to all these factors, it is one of the most popular and innovative magic mushroom hybrids available today. You can easily find them in online dispensaries to deliver to your doorstep.

You’ll get a stabilizing yet energizing boost and moderate to high potency that provides an all-encompassing physical sensation that makes them perfect for beginners and an excellent choice for microdosing. It can also be used by psychonauts looking for a refreshing experience.

There are different strains and potencies available in the market. It is always best to choose one with low to mild strength as a beginner. However, the essential consideration is the amount you ingest because even if the P. cubensis is considered to have moderate psilocybin content when taken in high dosage, it may produce intense visuals that can cause a beginner to be afraid of the experience. Therefore, remember to start low and slow when trying them.

Conclusion

Magic mushrooms can be taken safely in low to moderate dosages for beginners to get the hang of it. With the cubensis mentioned above, first-time users will enjoy a mellow and smooth psychedelic trip. They can be introduced into the psychedelic world without the overwhelming experience of potent strains.

Are CBD Cigarettes Safe-CBD Hemp Buds

Are CBD Cigarettes Safe-CBD Hemp Buds

CBD cigarettes

If you are trying to quit smoking, you might have heard of CBD or hemp buds as an alternative to tobacco. These are rolled cannabis cigarettes that have the curative benefits of cannabidiol without the high that THC provides. Read more about differences of CBD and THC when you visit here: https://usa.inquirer.net/37937/cbd-vs-thc.

You can also use vape products to help you quit smoking cigarettes. For more information visit lnwpod.com.

Some know them as hemp joints, but they don’t contain any tobacco. For consumers who are looking for a joint-like smoking experience, then this is an excellent product for them. The high concentrations of flavonoids, cannabidiol, and terpenes are evident in rolled hemp. The smell is also similar to that of cannabis flowers, so it’s somewhat like smoking weed and getting a therapeutic effect as well.

The internet is buzzing nowadays with these CBD flowers as cannabidiol has been dubbed “medical marijuana” by many of its users. This is because CBD is known to be effective in reducing inflammation for people who have joint pains and backaches. It is also helpful in making people more relaxed and achieves better sleep.

However, lots of smokers are asking whether it’s safe to puff on CBD and whether it’s like smoking marijuana. You can read on to find more about this.

Why Cannabidiol is Becoming Popular

When it comes to Cannabis sativa, many are familiar with its related names such as weed, pot, dope, and marijuana. Some may not be familiar with the hemp that is another strain of the plant that produces cannabidiol.

For many users, cannabidiol has been known to have a potential in treating certain medical conditions. However, lots of studies are still needed to verify this, and they’re still a need for peer-reviewed research to back up any findings regarding CBD.

Because of the discovery of cannabidiol as another strain of cannabis, there are lots of controversies involving its legalization, dosage, uses, and more. Most governments may not be hasty when it comes to mass-producing CBD, as anything related to marijuana is still widely debated by various political and religious organizations.

But the growing popularity of cannabis can’t be ignored. That’s why many manufacturers are discovering ways on how they can be consumed safely. Some of them were able to make CBD cigarettes. For people who are trying to quit smoking tobacco, CBD buds can be a healthier alternative to them instead of vapes.

What are CBD Buds?

Are CBD Cigarettes Safe

The buds are flowers produced by the female species of Cannabis sativa. Many manufacturers breed premium quality hemp plants since they will produce higher levels of pure CBD and lower levels of THC. THC is short for tetrahydrocannabinol, which is an addictive compound that has a psychoactive effect on its user.

To answer the question of whether hemp buds are safer compared to tobacco, then the answer is YES! You won’t get high and will not feel any mind-altering effects. The THC concentration is low, and you can have all the benefits that you can get.

Buying High-Quality and Premium Hemp Buds

For you to experience excellent results, you need to make sure that the product that you are smoking is only made from premium-quality materials. Telling whether a product is high-quality may be challenging as there are so many out there. However, here is some guidance that you can follow when looking for the right hemp bud rolls.

Use only organically-grown hemp products since their exposure to pesticides is lesser.

You need to look for plants that were grown in US farms. This is because imported plants from overseas have increased levels of pesticides, and there might also be some toxins that were mixed to make the products last longer.

You need to choose the products that contain pure CBD or a significant amount of it in the cigar roll. You can know more about these cigar rolls click here. If the concentration is higher, you can easily get all the benefits, which include reducing inflammation and increased appetite.

To enhance the entourage effect, look for the products which have higher terpene content. The entourage effect happens when the compounds in the cigar act synergistically to modulate any psychoactive effects of the cannabis plant.

You might feel intimidated by the idea of smoking hemp buds now. However, once you get used to it, you can get all the benefits of medical marijuana without the high. Make sure to only buy from reputable and trusted companies that are known to sell organic and premium hemp.

Gold Leaf Strain Review

By: press
18 November 2022 at 10:11

I’m on my third generation of the Gold Leaf marijuana strain grown indoors from feminized seeds and haven’t been disappointed one bit. They have been easy to grow from seed and clones and I will keep a Mother for even more future clones. this is my Gold Leaf Strain Review.

A more in depth article about the Gold Leaf Strain is  here.

There will be a Gold Leaf plant or two in my vegetable garden and I can’t wait for those to grow and mature. I’ll be using 30 gallon grow bags and I expect a really big plant and a huge yield compared to growing indoors. I’ll place the bags in the middle of 12 rows of corn. Corn is a great way to block the view of your weed plants.

When it comes to reviewing a strain for effects I’m not the best reviewer because I can say with complete confidence that I’ve never met a  marijuana bud I didn’t like. Frankly, 15 minutes after smoking a joint I feel the same no matter what strain I’ve smoked.

Gold Leaf starts really slow on me. In fact, the first time I smoked half a joint of it I thought this is really disappointing. Then I took a ride to the grocery store and said holy shit, I’m higher than hell, this weed is awesome.  The best way I could explain it would be at first it’s a really light, pleasantly light buzz then in a short while WHAM, it kicks in and you get really nailed.

The buds are nice and tight and really great for one hitters.

The bud in the photo was picked on April 15, 2020. The photo was taken May 29, 2020.  The bud is 1-1/2 inches long by 1 inch wide

Gold Leaf Strain

By: press
18 November 2022 at 09:00

I’ve harvested about 8 ounces of the Gold Leaf Strain from an indoor test grow of 3 plants and I must say; I really really like the gold leaf strain developed by Robert Bergman.

First of all it’s great weed. So great I have 4 more plants with 35 days left in the flowering cycle plus a couple of clones ready to be planted in my garden outside and I’ll be using 30 gal grow bags for those.

Gold leaf strain

The first time I actually smoked it was in April. I bought some feminized Girl Scout Cookie Extreme and Gold Leaf seeds from the Bergman website and germinated them on Christmas day.

I use Bergman because I’ve never had a bad experience buying seeds on his website and the plants are always great.

I grew them in the veg cycle until the 2nd week of February then switched to the flowering cycle until April 15. They dried pretty fast and were ready to smoke by the end of the month.

The veg cycle is always shorter for me because I’m a stealth, indoor grower with ceiling height restrictions; I can’t let my plants get too tall or they’ll grow into my lights.

Anyone growing in a basement, spare room or grow tent must consider the height of the plant when deciding when to start the flowering cycle.

Note: there are methods, training etc. that I don’t do if you need/want smaller plants. Search that on Google for more info.

I personally grow all three of these strains because they are FANTASTIC !!!

I’VE GROWN ALL OF THESE STRAINS.

Because my basement has a 7 foot ceiling with actual tree trunks as ceiling joists  I need to keep my plants around 48 inches tall or less. If a ratchet type hanger and hook  is used along with modern LED lights they’ll hang down about 12 inches.

This is not a rule and it’s very strain dependent but if you want to keep the top of your plants about 20 inches from the lights they need to be kept at a height of less than 52 inches tall.

I have switched to using the new style LED lights that are white and really bright. You MUST be careful how close you allow your plants to get to them. I have seen light stress at 18 inches on three different strains; AK 47, OG Kush and Gold Leaf which has been a problem for me (note to self: LED driver has dimming adjustment-figure out how to dim the lights already).

In order to keep my plants 48 inches tall or shorter, I top them when they are about 8” tall. Then I’ll wait about 2 weeks or until the new shoots start then top them again.

The Gold Leaf Strain is perfect for me because they respond to the topping very well and give me a lush, bushy, 42- 48 inch tall plant with about 6 sticky tops that after 30 days in the flowering cycle, I have to wear gloves when I’m trimming them, removing leaves etc. because they are so gooey already. I get almost 3 ounces from each plant.

The buds are a nice size and compact and when I say compact, I mean they are really tight. They are perfect for using a one hitter. A nice push/scrape and it fills perfectly every time.

Gold Leaf Strain

Be careful if using a grinder. The buds are so tight they can get ground too much and I suggest giving them just one turn and use your fingers to break them down further for joint rolling.

As far as growing the plant; they are hearty, can handle nutes and need very little care. The seeds germinated in three days using 4 inch peat rings in a covered plastic tray on a heating pad.

Without the heat I would guess they would germinate in 5-7 days if not longer.

I stopped using paper towels to germinate seeds 10 years ago LOL and I don’t soak the seeds in water unless they don’t pop in the peat rings which doesn’t happen very often.

I use the peat rings because it makes moving around a delicate seedling, for lack of a better word(s), easy peasy.

Why anyone would want to use tweezers or their fingers to pick up a fragile sprouted seed is beyond me.

All you have to do is place a dry seed in the moistened peat ring and you’ll never touch it again.

Keep your seedlings from stretching too much by having light directly over them while keeping the air moving.

You don’t want to knock them down but I have noticed they stretch less when the little seedlings are kept moving.

This is my soil mix formula; it’s great, easy to put together and if you use it along with Dyna-Gro nutrients you’ll have perfect plants. I will be adding a fish fertilizer as a test for my next grow. I’ll see if I get any improvement in my plants.

Read this article about pot size to help you decide which size is best for you.

Do be careful how close you allow your Gold Leaf plants to the lights. I burned the tops of one plant when it got about 16 inches away from a Mars Hydro TS 1000. For the price it’s hard to beat the Mar’s light.

Moving them to about 24 inches away solved that problem and until further notice I’m using that distance. I do have to figure out how to dim the lights. The LED driver has an adjustment screw that I haven’t tried yet.

As I mentioned earlier I also start flowering my plants a little earlier because for most strains, they have a growth spurt after the flowering cycle commences so I’ll start to flower after only about 6 weeks in the veg cycle; this along with topping early helps keep the plants at the perfect height for me.

Note: I have recently switched to the Veg light schedule of 20 hours on and 4 hours off and my plants have responded well to this change. Because my veg cycle is shortened I wanted to boost the growing a little and it has worked well.

During the veg cycle I use Dyna-Gro’s Foliage Pro, Pro TeKt and PH down during every watering; roughly about once per week. Gold Leaf has no problem with this.

I also use a new product from Dyna-Gro called Dyna-ZYME which is supposed to keep the roots clean for faster absorption etc. I use that every other time I water. I’m still testing the Dyna-ZYME and will publish something about that in the future.

I have well water that is a 7 PH out of the faucet and when I add the nutrients to the water, the PH stays the same. For me, weed grows best at my house with a PH range of 6.0 – 6.5 so I treat it with PH-Down every watering.

Finding a decent priced PH meter is tough. Forget the $10 ones; they are a waste of money. I finally settled on a meter from Luster Leaf for about $25 on Amazon. It took me a while to get the hang of it but now I can get the PH fast. Note: it only works in soil.

About two weeks before I start the flowering cycle I’ll switch from Foliage Pro to Dyna-Gro’s BLOOM, continue to use the Pro-TeKt, PH-Down and Dyna-ZYME plus add Mag-Pro every other watering.

Mag-Pro is a supplement high in phosphorus, magnesium and sulfur which is great for the flowering cycle.

I flower the Gold Leaf for 65 days. When I harvest, I’ll pull off the large leaves while the plant is still in the pot. Then I’ll trim a little closer saving all the trimmed leaves for later use as I’m going to make hash or something out of them for the first time. Just think, I’ve been tossing the trim away for 30+ years!!

I’ll hang the whole plant in a dark fairly cool room and use a fan 24/7 to keep the air moving. I also try and keep the branches from touching each other. This is a critical time and you most watch for mold.

The Gold Leaf plants dried in around 10 days. IMO, the buds are ready to be picked and placed into a glass jar with a lid when the branches snap when you bend them.

Every day I open the jars for 10 minutes to allow the moisture rich air to escape. This is an important step so do not forget.

The bud can be smoked at any time after it’s ready for the jars but will not crumble very well or be easy to handle. Easiest way to smoke a really fresh bud is just grab a chunk of a bud and use a pipe.

If you want to dry those fresh buds a little more so you can roll a joint use an oil filled space heater; the kind that looks like an old fashioned heat register. Put it on high, place a sheet of white paper on the heater top. Place your buds on the paper and cover it with another sheet.

On top of that place a magazine or a weekly newspaper.  A 1500 watt heater will dry those buds in about 20 minutes but you must keep your eyes on them as they could get dryer than your mouth after a joint of OG Kush.

I think Gold Leaf is an awesome strain, it gives me a great high and it’s easy to grow. I will keep a mother on hand for the next year or so for cloning.

Why Are My Marijuana Plants Flowering Early and How Can I Revert Them Back to Vegetative

I recently had to turn off the chat feature on my website; https://growingweedindoors.org because I was being asked one question every day over and over: Why Are My Marijuana Plants Flowering Early and How Can I Revert Them Back to Vegetative?

First a long story short; female cannabis plants start to flower when they detect less light unless they are plants grown from auto flower seeds.

So I always ask, “Are you sure you didn’t purchase auto flower seeds”?

If they are not auto flowers then the female plants detected less light and started flowering. Since it’s the beginning of summer how could the plants detect less light? This is a great question with an easy answer if you take a moment to think about it.

If you’re starting your plants indoors to get a jump on the outdoor season your plants are getting 18 to 24 hours of artificial light each day.  After a month indoors, your plants expect that same amount of light each day which keeps them in the vegetative cycle.

When the plants are moved outdoors, it doesn’t matter if you have a typical housing situation with trees, fences, buildings etc partially blocking sunlight or they are in a wide open field. There is a very good chance those plants will start to flower because they are looking for their usual 18-24 hours of light and they’re only getting about 15, and that’s if they’re lucky.

If you move your indoor plants outside and they start to flower early just let them be. They will flower for about 3-4 weeks, get used to the new light and revert back to the veg cycle all on their own.  This will cost you 4-6 weeks or more of grow time.

What I mean is your plants won’t grow much when they are recovering from the stress brought on by inconsistent light timings. The plants won’t be perfect and they may turn into a hermaphroditic plant and I don’t recommend doing this. Another long story short; there isn’t much THC in a hermaphroditic weed plant even though I am smoking hermed buds right now that are 18 months old and I do get a buzz, usually only in the morning. In the evening not so much so think about the next suggestion.

Another option is to add light outside to make up what’s missing. The plants should then be grown normally under the sun and extra light until they start to flower again. This does stress your plants and will most likely add to your growing time. You’ll lose the 14 days reversion time plus more as the plant recovers from the stress it’s been placed under.

If you had little buds started you’ll see weird looking single leaves growing out of them when the reversion commences. You can leave them or pick them off. DO NOT cut off the little buds that are forming.

IMO the best way to handle premature flowering is moving the plants back indoors giving them 24 hrs of light. They’ll revert faster and resume growing in the vegetative cycle. Warning; if you bring them back out with the same light conditions after they revert, they will herm again. I think it’s best just to finish the grow indoors but if you’re dead set on bringing them back out after they revert you’ll have to set them up for success.

First start with 24 hours of light to induce the reversion process for two days. Reduce the light to 20 hours for two days then down to 18 hours. Our goal is to keep the plants in the veg cycle with indoor light down to 15 or 16 hours each day. After two days on 18 change to 15 hours and watch them closely for 7 days.  This brings us to a total 11 days of reversion indoors. If they continue reverting you can bring them outdoors and hopefully they will stay in the veg cycle until they start to flower naturally.

If you notice they are flowering again your only choice is to grow them indoors, Go 24 hours of light for a couple of days then switch to your regular schedule; I now use 20 hours on during the veg cycle. As you can see growing outdoors is not as easy as it seems; especially in the mid-west. Besides bugs and critters, early flowering is a pain and is why I prefer to grow indoors.

If you have this problem right now and you can’t move them back indoors, you must add light to your plants outdoors to enable them to revert back to the vegetative cycle. If they were grown indoors under 18-24 hours of light I would suggest you add enough light to your plants so they have at least a solid 18 hours of light and it has to be good light. It doesn’t have to be as intensive as the sun or indoor grow lights but it can’t be just one bulb.

In the future if you plan on starting your plants indoors than moving them outdoors during the veg cycle, you must run your lights only 14-15 hours per day. This will keep your seedlings growing indoors in the veg cycle and they won’t start to flower when you move them outside. If your area has more or less hours of light during the growing season then adjust your indoor timings appropriately. One thing you must realize: all of this is strain dependent so make sure you read about the strain you’re trying to grow.
